Playing a game on easy and complaining of the lack of challenge is silly.
Again, there is a difference between "easy" and "overpowered player". As for RE5's demo difficulty - I played the game on Normal first time through, and it didn't feel any different from the demo (which, funnily enough, was far more challenging than RE6's demo).

Oh, how I'm looking forward to the turnaround of opinions in October.

    • I'll back geluda on this and say I tried to melee my way through Chris' demo and while I didn't die, it was challenging and I was thrown around a good bit. AI probably is inconsistent, but in a good way: sometimes enemies mutate more than others and when they're mutating they're going to be harder to kill.

I like that mutations are random and aren't scripted to specific enemies in specific places. In short, sometimes the game is harder than other playthroughs, even on the same difficulty, simply because of the random mutations.

        • Hopefully they listen to feedback and move the camera back a little bit, because other than that, I love what I see in the demo.

          • RE6 scans, supposedly has some info regarding Chris suffering from memory loss and depression after his failed mission. If anyone can translate, go for it.

Also shows a new type of J'avo, its chest opens up and kind of looks like the snakes mouth we've seen.

            • After watching Chris demo again I hope they give a good explanation to why Jill didn't look for him along with Piers.

A plausible scenario is that she retired from any active duty after the Kijuju incident. While Jill's a strong woman, I don't see her coming unscathed both mentally and physically from Wesker's captivity.

                  • Alright, I know we've talked at length about the demo over the past few days, but I felt like consolidating my thoughts into one post after playing each scenario 3-4 times (and trying each of the six characters at least once).

                    What I liked:
-First, just being able to choose which character I wanted to play as was pretty cool. I'm already a fan of how parts of levels will only be seen by one character or the other.

-The variety in combat. All of it; from the rolls and dodges to the melee, it's all really good, just a bit stiff. There was a part as Chris where I held down the run button and I jumped a gap, stunt-slid over a waist-high landing (breaking a potted plant in the process), and immediately dodged an enemy's melee attack, reversing it into a grab. Then I picked up the fool and tossed him across the rooftop. Amazing. I don't care if it's too "action-y" for some fans, it was f'n brilliant.

-I like the adjustable aiming and camera speeds, along with the ability to turn off the waypoints and reticles (while also choosing from 5 different laser dot colors).

-The death scenes I've watched (not suffered myself) look pretty gruesome and sweet!

-The cover system and ability to switch between left and right aiming adds a bit of variety to the shooting. Also like how machine guns can be set to full auto or semi-auto.

-The inventory system. It's a bit cumbersome at first, but considering how much crap you can carry and mix they did the best they could with it.

-The variety in enemy types just from this demo is pretty impressive. Love Ustanak, the zombies, and J'avo... digging the random mutations; it makes each encounter fresh. Chris' campaign gives you the best sense of this. Each demo playthrough a bit different because of when and how the J'avo mutated.

                    What I didn't like:
-While the camera speed is adjustable it still needs to be moved back a bit.

-The graphics don't seem to be up to par with modern games, and even trails behind RE5 a bit. Overall the characters, lighting, and enemies are solid and match RE5, but up close the random things that litter the environment are very blurry, texture-wise. You can really see this in Leon's campaign.

-The environment needs to be a lot more interactive; at least in slower parts like Leon's... it's much more apparent there how static the environment is. When I'm Chris or Jake i'm running for my life or gunning things down it doesn't matter as much, but Leon's demo is so slow paced that there needs to be more stuff to see and mess with while you explore. At least let my shotgun blasts put holes in glass and let me check out paintings and the like. I'm hoping that later on in Leon's campaign the promised action and puzzles helps pull my focus from this issue, because I'm sure Capcom won't add a lot more interactivity than what's in the demo. It just stood out like a sore thumb while Leon was in the University and forced to walk so friggin' slow.

Overall, I'm loving the demo and itching to play the full thing.

Retired or not they made her jump out of a freaking window to save Chris....
The worst thing is still about Claire though, we'll be lucky if she is even mentioned.

                      • Does anyone know if Leon will ever be fighting J'avo, or Chris/Jake will be fighting zombies? Most of the crossover stuff we've seen is between Chris and Jake, presumably because they mainly fight the same type of enemy. So will Leon's crossover segments only be restricted to boss fights because the zombies won't be present in the other campaigns? It seems weird to have Leon occupying the same city/areas as the other characters, but no overlap in terms of the main monsters being encountered.

                        • The missile with C-virus hit Lanshiang soon after Leon arrives in there. After that point I am sure both Jake and Chris will be facing zombies.

Funny, that's exactly how I feel about people running out of ammo in Code Veronica. To this day I still don't understand how this incredible feat can be achieved.

Depends on which ammo type we're talking about; handgun ammo is fairly plentiful, but explosive arrows are hard to come by and if you use them up on, say, Bandersnatches, you're left with nothing particularly adequate to fight the Tyrant on the plane. You can try to use the submachine guns, but that feels like a waste.

As for the "rose-tinted" glasses comment from Newsbot; do you really want to get into an argument of seeing things through a very specific lens? You're the last person to be calling out folks on that kind of thing.

Am I really the only one who remembers the outlandish praise and hype given to RE5 before its release (ON THIS VERY BOARD) only for there to be a sudden shift in opinion when people actually played the full game? All I'm saying is that this whole sequence of events is starting to look very, very familiar.
