  • Am I the only who has had only some, extremely unnoticeable screen tearing? And that too only in Leon's scenario, and only in the cut-scenes?

I swear I feel like I'm missing out with all this screen tear discussions on the three forums I frequent.

I play on a 55" 240Hz. Chris and Jake's demos have virtually zero screen tearing for me.

    • WOW the camera looks great on the E3 demo, it looks like it can be fixed in the options.

Anyway...... MAYOR SPOILERS AHEAD (Seriously I'm NOT kidding):

I only get the tearing when I turn the camera too quickly, but otherwise I get none. This is an early demo of the game so this could possibly be fixed. It's odd how RE5 on the XBOX360 looks much better than RE6. The textures in RE5 look more detailed and crisp, in RE6 they seem blurred or upscaled.

You're not the only one, I wonder if people have their 360s set to 1080p mode, this can cause increased screentearing and other issues in games that run almost fine in 720p mode.

                • I have a 600Hz TV and I only get slight tearing on cutscenes - same as Resident Evil 5 (Lost in Nightmares was the worst for tearing on the 360). It's not awful though.

And please people - spoilers, there's a thread on this forum for that - someone will drop the ball and spoil on here before long otherwise....

It should still end this way.

                    • Screen tearing is due to unoptimized code work. The LP2 demo Capcom put out had the same mixed to heavy tearing but the final result was clean when it properly released.

I figure time pressure of just getting the demo out without wasting too much time on it is the cause. The rest of Capcoms Framework games have been solid with next to no tearing, and with so many people working on the game I expect it'll be the same with the finished product.

                      • Bare in mind I'm not aware of any spoilers or anything.

Right. The vibe i'm getting from this game, and the demo, is that Chris is dying. This entire game is about his swan song to the series, one final last hurrah. Resident Evil 5 was about celebrating the character, Resident Evil 6 is about deconstructing him. He will be the first major casualty that the series will suffer.

How do you think he'll go out? In a huge blaze of glory series defining 'I'm going to save the world as I die' moment. Or a *shock - all bets are off* style death. I'm leaning toward that Capcom are going to give him a worthy send off. Unforgettable.

Unless he survives. In which case, ignore.

I'm getting that vibe too, the opening for his cenario leaves pretty obvious that he's going to have a redemption moment later, and what better redemption for a broken man than to sacrificing himself? I just hope it's a good death.

Not really. Many games have screen tearing on the 360. The sames games have v-sync on ps3, but at the price of a lower framerate. It's all about choice.

you dont have a 600hz tv. noone have. you have a 60hz monitor. the 600 is emulated by tv.
if they create a 600hz, we will never need vertical sync.
so, since u have a 60hz tv, in hi movement action, the screen will tear.
capcom is not good with vsync handling.althought re5 dont have it on ps3/ xbox, in pc vsync has many problem like character stuttering.
