It's not exactly uncommon for Capcom to come out with another version a few months down the line, though. Marvel Vs Capcom being the nastiest (the Tsunami means we can't make this DLC! Go buy the game again) but many main Resident Evil games have a re-release with something changed on the same system it was released on. Some aren't exactly major (dual Shock RE2) but I wouldn't bet money Capcom won't do it with RE6 again...even if it's just a Game of the Year version with all the DLC.

I don't mind disc-locked DLC as I've thought about it more. It's not like Capcom were ever gonna give that content away for free, so which would I prefer: Paying for it or not having it as option? Those are pretty much the two options, really - expecting Capcom to give away anything they can squeeze money out of is mad, and it's much more likely they simply won't bother with those extra sections if they can't charge - and this way I only have to download a little bit of stuff.

      • Capcom can easily come up with RE6: Gold and slap it with the "PS MOVE support and DLC" sticker.

I know, and correct. But I wasn't talking about all games though, just Capcom based on their track record. Thus the point of the LP2 mention with its unpolished demo against end product.

          • Lot of the DLC complaints are unfounded. For most games if they want DLC out for people only a couple months after release it needs be worked on parrallel to the main game, otherwise it just takes too long.

Putting it or many assets that will be used on the disc and locking it away shouldn't bother anyone, or else you may end up with a situation like the SSFIV Ultra costumes (second set), the only people who can see them are the people who buy/own them because that set of costumes was actual DLC, so buyers don't get to show them off which is part of the appea. In other cases, mostly on 360 which needs account for arcade console owners, people who do not have the DLC are blocked from people who do have it as they very limited on what they can download, if you buy a DLC character you'd hope to be able to use it with whoever you play with, but you cannot. On disc 'DLC' solves this.

As long as the base game offers acceptable amounts of content people shouldn't be bothered by on disc DLC. Though in some games cases Capcom are guilty of releasing skeleton games with disc locked content (MvC3 for example), that sort of practice is what is bogus.

            • Well I was actually expecting this game to be DLC heavy after RE5's experiment with it. Now will they release all this first on 360 or is it just one?
I don't think I can bear the screen-tearing honestly, I'll gladly take a small framerate hit over that and wait for the DLC to come over.
I'm more mad at all this timed exclusive crap than DLC on disc to be honest.

It's pretty common knowledge that Capcom loves to double dip, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. Either way, time will prove one of us to be correct. I'm fairly certain that RE5 Gold Edition sold well, so wouldn't it make sense for them to go back and do it again for RE6, with or without Move support? If it doesn't happen, then I'll just be getting the regular edition when it inevitably drops in price. I'm sure Capcom will be fine without my money in the meantime.

                • First Japanese TV spot.

I wonder if that Leon's cutscene from begining will be in the game or not. It isn't in the demo, but we all know how different was Revelations demo in compare with the actual game.

Split into 4 scenarios = 1 hour for each one. Not that bad.

                        • Resident Evil 4 had around 2 hours of cutscenes split over two scenarios, so it makes sense.

                          • The disc will be hacked, DLC content will be unlocked, people will record playthroughs and upload videos to YouTube and other media sites, Capcom will have a field day trying to control all the spoilers once again... Thus is the cycle of on disc DLC.
