I like co-op and multiplayer from time to time. But I don't like it in Resident Evil. It kills the immersion factor of the game for someone who wants to play it alone in the dark at 3 AM, when it is the most immersive.Mass production? Ridiculous!

I for one think the co-op in RE5 and RE6 drags the single-player experience down. The fact that you have to wait for your partner to "catch up" to you to open certain doors is bullshit. Nowadays everything seems to be made with multiplayer/co-op in mind first with single-player as an afterthought. That sucks. As a fan of single-player-only games like the classic REs, I'm disappointed. That's all I meant by my comment.

I see where you are coming from with the developers going for multiplayer first, but unfortunately thats what sells nowadays. I still love single player games more, but I've come to accept RE as a co-op game now, seeing as RE6 is continuing the fashion of RE5 and no doubt co-op is here to stay. Hopefully they will make side-RE titles that won't be co-op and use forgotten characters like Claire, Billy, Steve(yes, I still believe he is not 100% confirmed dead like they confirmed Wesker today), etc.

The Entertainment Software Rating Board has revealed their rating summary for the upcoming multiplatform title, Resident Evil 6.
Quote:
This is a third-person shooter in which players assume the role of characters caught up in a worldwide viral outbreak. As players navigate intersecting storylines, they use machine guns, shotguns, melee weapons, and explosives to kill mutated zombie creatures in frenetic combat. Battles contain realistic gunfire, screams of pain, and exaggerated blood splatter effects; some attacks result in dismemberment or decapitation (e.g., slowly inserting a monster's body into a rotating fan blade). Cutscenes also depict intense acts of violence: a zombie getting stabbed in the head; characters getting pummeled/impaled by monsters. One female boss character (a human-spider hybrid) is depicted nude—though without any discernible details (i.e., no nipples or genitalia); during one attack move, she briefly caresses her breasts while straddling on players' character. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” can be heard in the dialogue.

I'm guessing that the gore censorship will continue in the series because you can have the human characters get dismembered on camera like in the early series.
Thats setting a bad example for the chil'lins.
