  • I thought it was a cute touch that the save icon is a typewriter.

That's actually very possible, considering how the different scenarios apparently intertwine online. It would be very interesting if one of Ada's gameplay segments involved giving indirect support to the other two players from some catwalks above, instead of being able to fight together with them directly.

Where did you see that? I watched the Jake Demo, and it looked like the save icon was a thumbtack to me.

          That's the checkpoint icon.

Where's this save icon, then? On the "pause menu" like the skill points upgrade system?

            • Nope it's in Leon's gameplay from "The Fear and Horror" panel.

              • Ah, I see it now. Nice little touch. Shame that the game operates on a checkpoint system - I miss save rooms and typewriters.

                • I miss save rooms too, and their theme songs the most, but typewriters are obsolete and archaic. I'm happy with the little checkpoint typewriter icon. Can't really ask for more.

                  • Typewriters would not work with co-op, as much as we love our single player RE there really is no debate that co-op with friends has more Replay Value

7 characters with different perspectives of the events. (Oh come on Ada's campaign is a no brainer by this stage surely)

                    Co-Op with friends

                    Co-Op Merc's and modes

The Replay Value is stunning because of Co-Op combined with the classic unlocks, costumes, collectibles and more.

Makes you think how long will people spend playing RE6 O_o

EDIT: Why did I even go into that, my god I need to turn down my RE fanboy meter a few notches!

                    • There's plenty of debate. RE4, for instance, has no co-op and is easily the most replayable game in the series (35+ runs don't lie). RE5, which did have co-op, is the least replayable game in the series.

                      • That depends on the player. Many people play the old games multiple games but they do not have the options to keep the playthrough fresh in the same way Co-Op does.

I agree. I've beat Resident Evil 4 seventy-plus times between the Gamecube, PS2, and Wii versions while I've only actually played through RE5 three times from front to back. Code Veronica was the only game I've played through less times than part 5 (counting only main series entries).

                          • I love parts of 5 that I replay again and again both solo and co-op; mainly the Chapters 1, 2, 4, 5 and Lost in Nightmares. Outside of those portions of the game though I never really play it. RE4 is definitely the one RE game I've sunk the most time in.

                              I couldn't agree more. I've probably beaten RE4 close to 50 times.

To me, RE5 was a bore (with or without co-op). With it my partner always wants me to move as fast as possible whereas I like to take my time and explore what little there is in the game to actually explore. Without it the AI becomes a moron, and the interface lacks many options. For example, when I fling AI Sheva into an area Chris cannot reach, there's no way to tell her to pick up all the items there. Then I leave the area feeling like I missed something, every time. I'm just an "explore every corner" kind of guy (years of playing the good, single-player only RE games will do that to someone). And before anyone says "Well, just play as Sheva," her being forced on the right side of the screen is unnatural, awkward, and unappealing to me. I'm glad they at least fixed that with RE6, since they sure as hell still have areas that only one character can reach.

Edit: Also, in RE5 single-player, if the AI misses a shot, your accuracy ranking goes down. What the hell, Capcom?!

                              Mass production? Ridiculous!
