      I like how they seem to be going with the classic RE theme of "the viruses drive people crazy, turn them into Reavers from Firefly."

              What the hell is up with new RE titles and forced chainsaw wielding enemies? In RE4 they were cool. RE5 was ok. Revelations was plain stupid (bonesaw? really?), same with RE6. J'Avos should have gone "Krauser" with a big bone blade.

                lol you're all badasses when it comes to the bonesaw J'avo NOW, but just wait until you get your doubting paws on the game and start fiddling around with difficulty settings. I get the feeling that you'll find the prospect of going against that beasty with little to no ammunition (as we have been promised by the dev team), you'll appreciate the terror that a chainsaw wielding enemy can and always will impart.

                Just like in RE5. I did my first playthrough on normal and blew through those pesky chainsaw mini-bosses. But then on veteran mode, where the ammo is EXTREMELY limited, they took on a new dimension and added quite a bit of tension. And before you ask me "Yeah, and what about Professional Mode?", you can just shut your mouth. xD I haven't been able to do it.

                And I don't even want to get started on my first playthrough of RE4... That was just terrifying the first time. xD

                    My complaint is more about the design of the enemy than what it brings to the game. But yeah, I can understand what you're saying. I feared these assholes (that's what they are, sorry) in RE5's Veteran/Pro mode...

                    Agreed. Same as the first zombie in RE1. Thing is, that when you get used to it, it stops being scary. Notable exceptions to this are stalker monsters, as Lisa Trevor, Nemesis and hopefully, Ustanak.

                        Well, I can understand that the design is a little... odd. But I would rather it be insane and awesome to fight than a beasty that "makes sense" and is just the same old thing. I think you probably feel the same way. It would be awesome to happen across a warehouse full of those guys at some point in the game. xD

                        As for the Reapers... damn. I was playing through the Ship levels attempting to complete all the chapters on pro (a feat I have yet to accomplish), and I had the S&W500 (I.e. the Elephant Gun) with infinite ammo. I was cruising along and encountered the first Reaper.... I literally could not kill him, WITH A MAGNUM! I had even loaded Sheva with an infinite L. Hawk with no results. I died a couple of times before I could best him.

                          Yup, in general the J'avo feel "fresh" to me, the fact they mutate acording where you shoot them ensures some good mayhem... Still I can't understand how bone and muscle can work like a chainsaw. Magic virus I guess. Doesn't make RE6 less awesome for me.

                          As for RE5 Pro and Reapers. Infinite Rocket Launcher. There's nothing more gratifying that seeing those bastards blow up all over the place. The real problem is on Desperate Escape, where you get no infinite guns and there are a few Reapers in your way. I was running all the place avoiding the instakill hug & trying to get a shot hahaha.

                            RE5 Pro is just scary period. I had no clue that you could die in pro if you get surrounded, I was playing the assembly yard level on pro and I got surrounded (without even getting struck) and BOOM I was pronounced dead. It's more realistic, but damn difficult. xD

                              • Chainsaw-wielding enemies were awesome in RE4, but that's where they should have stayed. Unfortunately, since RE4 introduced a new generation to RE, the kiddies might not think it's RE without chainsaw baddies. Kind of like how some of us old-school fans don't think it's RE without typewriters, backtracking, maze gameplay, etc.
