Already explained on the official site. Sherry was an agent for a different organization before becoming an agent for the DSO, Leon's organization. Leon didn't know she was a DSO agent because she was immediately assigned to protect Jake. I wouldn't be surprised if the actual script is more clear and the English one is abbreviated contradictory garbage. Also, Leon has had access to Sherry for 15 years.

In accordance with the justice the President believed in, only two years from its formation the DSO eliminated all dangers threatening the U.S. and was referred to as the "Sword of the President." One of the typical agents of this DSO is Leon S. Kennedy, who was also a member at the time of its establishment. In addition, Sherry Birkin belongs to the DSO, but when she first became an agent, she belonged to another organization. She transferred to the DSO, but because she was immediately assigned to the mission of protecting Jake Mueller by Simmons, Leon did not know she belonged to the DSO until after the incident occurred. Furthermore, although there was once an anti-bioterrorism force in the U.S. called the "FBC", they are not directly related and the attributes of the organization are also considerably different from the DSO.

lol It is valid no matter what, as it is an opinion. I just think that the Wesker Jr. angle is there solely to bring the Wesker fanboys (or as I call them, Pesky Weskers) back into the RE fold after RE5.

Well, I’ve been a Wesker fan girl since the first RE game came out and I couldn’t care less about Jake, in fact, I am pretty sure I'll dislike him a lot. Meh. -_-

            • I didn't expect to even take notice of Jake, let alone like him. But he is shaping up to be quite a good character. On paper, the concept of "Wesker's son" is laughable. But it looks like they might just pull it off.

              • Up until the latest scene with Jake and Sherry in the cabin, I really didn't like Jake due to his douchebag attitude and his character being designed for a "younger audience" (which apparently includes looking like a terrible rapper). But after the cabin scene, he bothers me a tad less. I get the feeling that he'll be the one providing the player with cheesy one-liners this time, since Capcom has made Leon about as fun to watch as paint drying post-RE4.

Anyone who provides hilarious one-liners is okay in my book.
                Mass production? Ridiculous!

                • He might be Wesker's son, but they pull it off because of the difference between the two. In contrast to Wesker, Jake is a good guy, more light hearted, has feelings and basically, more human albeit less badass.

He is annoying at times though. Douchebag regardless, but I think, like Steve, he will develop throughout the game.

Oh how I hated Steve.... He's right up there with Rebecca on my list of most loathed RE characters.

                      it's the voices. believe me

                      • Yeah I agree with the voices. Rebecca in the REmake feels like a completely different character because for me the voice the used finally had Rebecca not sound like a 10 year old girl. She sounds exactly as she should. I was disappointed that the Rebecca we eventually saw in Zero didn't match the absolutely awesome Rebecca in Remake.

But with Steve, though his voice is kinda annoying in CODE: V, it's actually preferable to me than his utterly forgettable and characterless voice actor in Darkside. How strange when it's practically the other way around for me for Rebecca.

But back to Resident Evil 6 and voice acting, I always thought Resident Evil 5 took a massive step forward in the voice acting department, and it looks to of been utterly eclipsed here. I never wanted to see Mercier replaced for Leon, but this new chap? He ain't bad. and the new Ada voice actress is so like for like for Cahill they are practically identical.

                        • I'm still leaning toward the possibility that Jake is actually a clone of Wesker, akin to Solid Snake and Big Boss.

The technology exists in the Resident Evil universe, not to mention the ability to induce accelerated aging, as evidenced by Sergei's clones being used to create Tyrants.

Though realistically, Jake will be Wesker's biological son, and we won't hear anything about his mother or when he was conceived. He just was.

                          • How did Carla come about to be? We know there is a chrysalis that they ultimately emerge from, but would the need a blood sample of Ada? Surely they would of. Could Jake have emerged from a chrysalis too?

And is there a HD version of the trailer yet? The music sounds absolutely amazing, and would love to hear it direct.

                            • Music in the Gamescom trailer is from the Two Steps From Hell, but I don't remember which track exactly. (So it's probably not in the game...)

Also Jake cannot emerged from chrysalis, because he would remember it. Carla was a normal person with her own personality. Chrysalis only changed how she looks like.
