And the game is coming out in TWELVE DAYS. How different can the final build be from a demo released two weeks before the game comes out?

Quite a bit when the demo is months old. It's not a recently made build. It's the same demo shown at Comic-Con, and mentioned in previews earlier than that.

I wasn't referring to technical aspects like framerate or screen tearing.

My point was that this is a very small sampling of the game. Writing off the entire game simply because one small section from a demo comes off as a corridor shooter is just plain silly, but then, this is the Internet.

        Logic be damned.

This demo was probably finished back in early August, at least (usually, there's at least a month turn around time for these things). Basically, it's probably anything from one to two months old at this time and whatever team Capcom put on it were working on an offshoot of the base game's code, so unless the game had radical changes applied to it between the point in time the demo development started and signed off, the state of the engine, gameplay functionality and general features included most likely match whatever was the state of the full game at the point in time where the demo's development started.

          • They seem to have chosen the least interesting segments for the demo, really boring. Leon's was the best but only marginally. Car driving part made me laugh for the wrong reasons. Also the cliffhanger was the sewers, nobody likes sewers, stop putting them in games. The other characters were so generic I didn't care at all, action games have been done like this before only better.

              • The demo for Revelations was also completely different from the final build of the game, just saying.

                • So I got the demo and I'm kind of glad I did. The game play is definitely going to take some getting used to, it feels allot more like those shooter games I'm terrible at. It's interesting though, I didn't have trouble adjusting to RE4 or RE5 so it's a little disappointing to have trouble getting the hang of the controls. I keep accidentally triggering the dives when I'm trying to run :p I'm also going to miss being able to draw the knife on the go, but, I will say that the combat system is quite fun too! Especially when you get to use the enemies weapons against them. The tripping over bodies was a neat mechanic, But I'm nervous it may get annoying when I'm just trying to run (which I did allot of) .

I'm really not that much of a hater of the partner system, in fact, I kinda liked having Sheva, Piers and Jake (Wut?) helping me out. But Leon's scenario REALLY didn't need a co-op partner. I thought they said you wouldn't even realize they were there? I need Helena to disappear. I was having allot of fun playing with those zombies, but Helena kept stealing my kills! Just sit there and look prett--er...Just sit there.

                  • The final game apparently has a Lone Wolf mode. It probably needs to be unlocked though.

4/5 still used the same controls as every other game before them. Literally the only changes were the camera and aiming system. That's why the former two games weren't hard for players of the old games to get used to.

                          • Yeah. They basically just altered the 3 step vertical aim and allowed it to utilize a free flow system. Pretty funny how just altering the camera system made people completely oblivious to that fact.

                              • So I've been replaying the demo quite a bit and I just tried keeping the HUD up/Waypoint on. It really does aggravate me that it shows you where weapons are/boss weakpoints. I don't need my damn hand held the entire way through. I do however like seeing my health/ammo count whenever I am aiming though, so I'm not sure what the hell I'm going with in game when it releases. I really don't understand why they can't just have two separate options: one for the waypoint and one for the HUD. It's extremely annoying having to press LB to check it every 5 seconds with it off. Now I know you could say that the old games made you go to the inventory screen to check it, and that was fine. The problem with this game however, is when you're low on health, your damn character doesn't limp! Why? It really is just laziness. Also, hiding weapons and then having them come up as a waypoint really just kills the point.
