  • I have found once you totally get your head around the controls, and start dodging and sliding about the place, my enjoyment of the sky rocketed. I remember running around a corner as Helena, blasted a zombies head off and three more lunged at me, so did the back dodge and blasted the other three whilst flying to the air. Was great fun, totally not Resident Evil but crazy crazy fun.

      • I'm sure more people would've liked Jake's personality if he looked a bit more emo, dressed a bit more colorful and carried a huge sword.

        • I do hope you're not describing Dante...I've got Devil May Cry on my to play pile (Yeah, sometimes I'm a little slow) and if he's as smug a tool as Jake I'll snap the disc before the first hour has passed.

          • Yeah, it really amazes me how unlikable they've made Jake. It's not even like he's doing anything particularly annoying, either, it's just the way he's characterized - which sucks, because Troy Baker's actually a good voice actor when he's allowed to be.

            • Guys, he's meant to be an asshole. Fortunately Sherry knows how to deal with this smart ass, lol. He will probably evolve during the game like Steve did in CV, but in a less... "hormones-induced" way.

Well, everyone's favorite spin on Dante (DMC3) is pretty much Jake, just without the "surfing on a sword whilst shouting yahooooo"-bit.

Exactly what will happen, Jake will turn from this careless merc into a man who realizes the importance of what is going on in the world.

                  • I.... Actually really like Jake. I don't find him anywhere as annoying as other characters in the series (such as Steve) and actually find him quite entertaining. He's just a smart ass but as it's been said, he'll most likely mature as the game goes on. Troy Baker does a fine job and while yes, I can see a resemblance to Dante in how he acts, hopefully Jake won't ride a motorcycle up a vertical wall, screaming "Yahoooo!", while simultaneously beating the shit out of demons with it.

                    • I like Jake so far. Was expecting to utterly hate everything about him, particularly the fact that he's Wesker's son. But... he has grown on me quite a bit the more I've seen.

                      • I like Jake, personally.

I think the scene between him and Sherry in the cabin shows there's more to his character than may be initially perceived.

I think his asshole-ness is supposed to be compensation for any number of issues and/or a way of stopping himself from getting close to people. He's a mercenary after all. There's a great line in one of the gameplay vids where he tells Sherry that because of his work, he doesn't get to decide when or how he dies, only that it's going to be brutal. By the end of the game, I'm sure he'll melt into a big puddle of feelings.

                          • I haven't seen a lot to like from the demo, which includes the characters. It doesn't look that great and I prefer the controls in the last two games. I do think it's likely that they chose the most boring part of the games to showcase, but time will tell if there is more to it - particularly the Chris segment.

                            • Well we already know we have got some nice things from all the scenario's coming, Chris's Edonia stage is bright and full of action but previews have stated that the chapter gets a slower pace as it comes to a end, we know about the Snake fight which looks much slower and tension filled.

So lots of nice things to come we have not fully experienced yet.

                              • Played RE6 demo, I only liked Leon's campaign, Chris' one looked like a boring generic third person shooter, and Jake's campaign is also boring. Overall, very boring except for the Leon part. Also there are a lot of low-res textures in scenarios/objects, it stands out and it is plain ugly... not buying until Gold Edition.
