I've had the game since Friday evening. I turned it on tonight (Monday night) and was prompted to update to 1.01.
It's an 11mb update. I don't know what it's changed (I haven't tried playing with it yet).

Still a solid score, but it seems many reviewers believe the next installment needs a big change, kinda funny hearing that coming from a time in the industry were Call of Duty can get away with being the same thing every single year but what can yea do.

Gamespot has indeed given the game a 4.5/10 which in my opinion is a down right crime. These idiots don't know the difference between quicktime events and button prompts.

I wonder were Capcom will take RE7, will they realize giving each type of fan their own campaign didn't work? Leon's was a clear winner with Critics and fans alike so hopefully Capcom just suck it up and realize people want more horror and less action.

My guess is that there will be no RE7.

If this bombs hard enough for Capcom in sales we could see RE.net going offline in less then 6 months and them taking a huge hit. But I don't think it would stop a RE7. Who knows maybe this could be a good thing, maybe this could push Capcom to either go right back to the good combination of horror and action ala RE4 or we could see that RE2 Remake sooner then expected.

I for one would like to see an RE2 remake and another Code Veronica-esque game (i.e. taking place right after the events of RE6) starring just Jake and Sherry, but with more horror/suspense. Besides, Spoiler:

I highly doubt it will bomb sales-wise. But yeah if it does, maybe there wouldn't be a proper "RE7", with a REboot instead.
