In the process of uploading all of the game's files and cutscenes. I have all of Leon's and Ada's files done, with the majority of Chris and Jake's. Only a handful more to go, will be all done tomorrow. You can find the files here. I have already spotted many localization mistakes (the Plaga being referred to as a virus, the fabricated "Operation: Bacillus Terminate" being used in place of the Sterilization Operation and so on), so translations will be done as soon as I get my hands on the Japanese text. Hopefully a little bit more clarity can be gained that way, like every other game in the series.
As for the cutscenes, I am currently uploading all of them in HD. Almost finished Leon's. You can find them on ProjectUmbrellaTV, and they have a specific playlist.
Can't stress it enough, spoilers.PROJECT Umbrella - The BIOHAZARD/RESIDENT EVIL Compendium

- Plot is meh, and never really does anything with the whole global outbreak stuff. Mostly just Retcons some new guy into the Raccoon City events.
- Jake's much heralded super awesome fighting stuff is 1) awkward and 2) not actually required?
- Minimal exploration?
- Any puzzles?
- Leon and Ada campaigns are the best?
- All told, RE5...but longer.
Have I got that about right?
- Jakes melee abilties are great and fun, very simple to use and if you do not melee a lot in this game you will run out of ammo, for all three campaigns. Definitely has a use.
- Yes still Linear for 95% of it.
- A few puzzles, very few, most in Leon and Ada campaigns, not super challenging but a slight step up from RE5.
- I enjoyed Chris most myself. Ada had some crappy stealth segments which just doesn't work well with the characters mobility.
- I think RE5 is the better game, for sure on story and co-op is done better in RE5 what with being able to share items and whatnot (several times in RE6 I found myself deleting things just so could pick u a new item), generally bosses better designed for co-op in RE5 too. RE5 lot less cheap QTEs too. The new combat system in RE6 is really great though and fun to use vs the new abilities enemies been given, Mercs gets a lot more hetic.Beanovsky Durst - "They are not pervs. They are japanese."

I watched the playthrough of Leon's campaign and...
Spoiler:
Derek Simmons is a flesh Transformer. I don't even know where to begin, really, I can't say it's good or bad because we already had shit like Irving and Saddler being capable of creating giant limbs out of thin air but Simmons actually can go back to his human form after turning into a dog, a fucking Tyranosaur and a giant spider. It's mind bogling, it's shit I expect from an Animal Man comic. The transformations looked cool though.
Didn't post this on the spoilers thread because I still have to watch all the rest.Last edited by alexdz; 10-03-2012, 03:13 PM.

I feel so naive for thinking I could beat this game in one-sitting.
Spoiler:
I picked up my copy at the Monday midnight release, and it took me eight hours to finish just Leon's. Moved on to Jake's, which I absolutely loved. The way they wrote Sherry is truly, in my opinion, one of the best characterizations in the series. I feel as though she's one of the few characters who has a personality and demonstrates behavior that is accurate to her past. I think it's a true pleasure we got to see her as a naive, helpless child and, now, she is a self-efficient, brave agent, who can't always exude her ranking and therefore comes off as still being naive. Her interaction with Jake is a great contrast, and the nod to Wesker/Birkin makes it even more mesmerizing. I think their scenes are some of the most emotional, well-written, well-acted in the series. Between the scene in the cabin and the scene after they reunite in the medical lab, they have the most gripping dialogue in the game.
I loved, loved, loved hiding in the medical lab, as well as when you were being pursued. It was so Clock Tower/Haunting Ground-esque, and I loved the helpless feeling. So good.
Right now, I'm on Chris' scenario. Super eager to finish it and get to Ada's campaign.
I have some qualms about the game, definitely, but I don't really want to waste time bitching about 'em. This game is really shaping up, in my opinion, as one of the stronger titles. I love it.

Wait a second, I just realized when playing Chris's campaign:
Spoiler:
You find the shotgun in the flashback scenario and then when the game comes back to the present Chris suddenly has the shotgun? Did he just forget through the first part of the game that he had it and then after the flashback was like "Oh lol, that's what this thing is!?"
Da fuck Capcom?Last edited by ayshplaysh; 10-03-2012, 03:21 PM.

Looking at things in a positive light, RE6 could be a necessary anomaly that will lead the mainline series to a proper (and much needed) reboot. Or at least going back to what works.
As it is, RE6 suffers from a rather nasty identity crisis. Wants to be so many things. Unfortunately, it does a poor job at it. For a AAA franchise, that is simply unacceptable. More so with all those people that worked so hard on it. 600 ppl.
This all reminds me of when Mikami worked on RE4 and felt that he needed to make the RE1 remake to remind himself and his team what the series was about.
But apparently the RE6 team seems to have been very busy looking at what worked in other non-RE related games. And they then tried to shoe-horn all those foreign elements into the mix, to cater to 'modern gamers'. With 'mixed' results.
I dunno... maybe I don't wanna believe that there is NO MORE HOPE LEFT.Last edited by Pikminister; 10-03-2012, 03:26 PM.Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.

I think that whatever happens after RE6 is a win-win scenario. If it commercially flops then we may get a reboot back into a more SH game. If it doesn't then they will refine gp from it and RE7 will be better
RE6 could probably be THE splitting point of the series, depending of what happens later

I am at a complete loss here. I see nothing about this game that makes it the worst RE game or a bad game at all. Perfect? Hardly. Playable and enjoyable? Definitely.
I'm all for differing opinions, but the almost unanimous hate by the press, fans, and of course, modern-RE-haters is mind boggling to me. I have two other friends playing the game currently and they love it too, so I'm really not understanding the hate.
Of course, I play RE games for story/atmosphere first, then gameplay. So as long as I don't completely hate the gameplay I'm going to like it. I think this game has a good (not great) RE-style story and amazing atmosphere in its enemy designs/locations/character interactions... so it gave me all I needed.Last edited by Shield Key; 10-03-2012, 04:11 PM.

Anyway, no one can hope to understand other ppl's opinions if they go around dismissing them from the get go.Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.
