The image is from the "1st Trailer" RE6 (1Min 09Sec):

      • Too bad. I loved RE5 so this is great.

        • If you didn't like RE4 or 5 there's a 90% chance you won't like RE6. It's gonna be an action fest, if you're expecting a revival of survival horror I guess you'll be disappointed.

          • Yes....because the image of shambling Zombies with a atmospheric spotlight behind them is exactly what RE5 was, give me a break.

People need to accept that Survival Horror is not fixed camera angles and tank controls. Both are fairly inconsequential. BH4 retained some horror elements. BH5 was a great concept and could have, but didn't (BH6 team acknowledges this). The main figures in the BH6 team are not the same as those in BH5 or even BH4, they were responsible for the more horror-orientated titles.

Also; action and survival horror do not need to be separate. And every game in the series post-BH1 (exception of CODE:Veronica) has focused heavily on action and pulled it off very well. Just because one team does not have a good grasp of horror does not mean that nobody else does.

You just completely nullified your point. Those screenshots aren't from BH5, they're from a pre-development teaser. On the other hand, the BH6 screenshots you are judging are from a very late build of the game.

Oh my friend you just completely screwed yourself, you obviously have no idea of how game development works, I'm not going to be rude but.....go to bed son.

EDIT: I would also like to add that this version of RE5 which WAS single player looked so amazing, almost everything I have seen of RE6 is different to RE5, from the Zombies, to the advanced gameplay mechanics, to the scale of the story and game itself.

I'm not complaining, just to clarify. I do enjoy 4 & 5 as much as the oldschool titles, but some people here are expecting 6 to have the same mood from the classics, when it'll probably be more like 4 (and partially, 5). And they won't care who's in charge of developing, they'll just point the finger at Capcom.

Oh, it's on now... fighting words.

Anyway... yeah, RE6 will not be a reboot like they said it would. Just more of the same. Playing it safe is the way to go... the videogame industry is becoming more like Hollywood.

                      • Not fighting words I assure you! just the lack of passion and faith in the series lately is depressing. I mean come on, Devil May Cry 2 was playing it safe, DMC3 upped the bar, Capcom LOVES playing it safe but when critics and fans roar they do deliver.

                        Well.....most of the time.

I know what its from, this is what we were essentially shown to be RE5 before they ended up scrapping what they had in favor of copy and pasting RE4.

"Oh my friend you just completely screwed yourself, you obviously have no idea of how game development works"

You obviously didn't understand what I meant by getting RE5 flash backs. That shot of zombies standing in front of a heavy light source look familiar? Yes this is a late build of the game, but you never know whats going to get cut so it can ship on time.

And those character design sketches of J'aavo and zombies look like unused zombie concept art from 4.5/ and the Basic commando Majini from RE5.

I don't know how game development works...yeah, the process of writing a script, doing production artwork for character designs, enemy designs, level designs in the beginning, programming and rendering everything in the middle, and adding additional lighting and background texture and effects as well as music and voice acting in the final stage is just beyond me. And then when things have to change because of Q and A as well as beta testing just confuses me even more.

I'm seeing too many similarities to RE5, which is raising suspicion and concern and am sad to see that it looks like the series is going for full 'gears of war'/CoD' for 2/3rds of the campaigns, while having a short 7-9 campaign that has survival horror in it in a minimal effort to placate the original fan base.

Capcom doesn't like playing it safe, they like to copy and paste and re-sell people what they've already bought.

Street Fighter 2 sound familiar? How about Marvel vs Capcom 3?

                          • Well the brightside is the development is so far along, the cutting stage is really reaching the end.

What we know so far is. 3 campaigns, Leon is more Survival Horror, Chris Action Horror and still not really sure about Jake but we will see. Making everyone happy with each full length campaign, and hey look at it this way, Chris and his team going into action to stop these new mutating abominations sounds very intense, it sounds fun and it still sounds like it will make us panic. Makes sense to me that Chris being with a organized team would not be as scary as Leons campaign but this is it, this is how RE6 is expanding on all these areas to deliver all types of horror, as Capcom have said, horror entertainment.

                            • RE5 was in development for what...5 years before they released what they released?

The whole fear in daylight concept that was advertised among over things earl on was thrown out and really, seeing what we've seen from Jake and Chris's campaign, they haven't learned their lesson. Daylight and survival horror dont work, Daylight and action on the other hand...

                              • Theres the challenge though! the way I see it is, Jake and Sherry have their means of keeping their abilities, this goes more into the action sense even when a big BOW similar to Nemesis is chasing you, but what happens if you are presented a situation in which you no longer have that mighty juice to feel like a badass? that "Nemesis" is chasing you down and Jake and Sherry are now helpless to that confidence and security they once had? I think this is the wider range of horror and fear Capcom are trying with RE6.
