  • Wouldn't say the demo oozed atmosphere because...there were too many people talking to really enjoy the ambiance.
Always kills the mood when people don't shut up, not to mention the echo's in the convention hall.

    • I just watched Jake and Sherrys demo and wow, I am pleased that Jake even with his powers still cannot take out the BOW which still gives that horror that you are being chased down by an enemy that makes even you, a super human with incredible abilities look like a insect. This is the type of compensation I was hoping for with Jake.

      • They're at least making an effort to create ambiance. That much shows.

Also, I kinda hate the way Jake runs. Don't swing your arms so much, guy! Jeez.

I don't have a play-by-play video comparison, no. But really, you don't get any sort of ORC vibes from the melee combat? The emphasis on cover-shooting? The twitchy, often "eh" look of the general animations? The vibes I was getting from yesterday's demo and other presentations were exactly the same as for that game.

Again, I liked what I saw from the new demonstration today; it's what I'd hoped they'd showcase in the conference. I just don't expect the balance to be there in terms of horror and action, nor did everything (outside of the Leon bit today) look like the proper pacing of a Resident Evil game.

The melee combat in BH6 is nothing like the shitty taptaptap system in ORC. It's more of an evolved version of the one featured in BH4 and BH5, and is limited to one character.

Cover shooting is only really emphasized when facing enemies with guns. It is useless for all other enemies. Why wouldn't soldiers use cover against gunfire?

            • I'm with Darkmemories here the melee is assigned to RT and seems near identical to ORC the Capcom video shows that near the end but not in great length granted maybe the other videos show it more I'll need to look , the dive into a shooting position is almost present in ORC. Leon shoulder charges like in ORC, Use of the D-Pad for hotkeys. I'm intrigued by the Health Tablets though, Max Payne much? The combat with the zombies in the garage seemed no more polished in terms of animation either.

              EDIT:
Lol at the IGN video when Leon RUNS. SLIDES. JUMPS DOWN. RUNS. gently pushes the door. SLAM!

Though the IGN Monkey being all surprised at Move and Shoot was funny, Hmm REORC much?

Also the "Facepalm" caused me to actually facepalm. and that's not something I do much cause i wear glasses and it means I need to clean them but this. This was bad. Animation was a smooth as gravel too . . .

              • ORC? Try Outbreak 2, Mercenaries 3D and Revelations. Moving and shooting isn't some amazing feat for RE6, and not everyone is jumping in rage at the idea that it'll be included. In fact, it should have been in RE5 considering the tone of that game.

I'm glad to see that ORC helped pave the way for RE6 to be great. What can I say? The stylized melee and cover look refined to offer that grounded experience you see in such classics like Gears of War. And with events that include four player co-op (which was one of the best things about ORC) I'm very interested to see what they can bring to the table here. During scenario cross overs and hopefully mercenaries.

D-Pad was used for hotkeys in BH5. Because that's all the D-pad is really good for. Health tablets were used in Outbreak, and make more sense.

Revelations had move and shoot long before ORC. It was a unilateral decision by CAPCOM to incorporate it in subsequent games after BH5, as it was a huge complaint in reviews. Something certain people seem to forget. Like I said, never fucking happy.

Ironically, BH6 was in development before ORC. Developed completely separately. By completely different teams. Even the CAPCOM staff that worked on it have nothing to do with BH6.

                  • The animation is fine and does the job, being able to melee when you want is a welcomed addition, always felt stupid running up to a enemy that looks like he can be melee'd but couldn't...

The door slamming open is most likely the same thing as martial arts, you don't need to push something with great force to open it and Leon being trained as he is would want to open a door from a possible threat as fast as he can without leaning into it, avoiding the possible grab from a Zombie or worse.

                    • RE5 versus mode was the best. They should go back to that. Nothing is better than to run, stop, aim, and shoot before your opponent follows the same pattern while you got evil doers with broken wine bottles and sticks chasing after you.

                        Needs more fixed camera angles.

                        • Well I haven't played Revelations and tried to avoid as much about it until I have. Infact it wasn't until PUPod I gave in and not once did I hear anyone mention move and shoot. But that makes the IGN guy even worse since that's TWO RE games with move and shoot in the last year he neglected to acknowledge . . .

                          EDIT:
I agree with this guy mostly but RE6 does look promising, but as soon as he goes on about how old fans will want bad controls. It wasn't the controls it was everything else that was lost surely? I mean RE4 controls just as clucky as RE1-3.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

                          • RC the IGN guy even said about avoiding the story in the demos, I don't think he has any credibility at all so no need to take anything he said seriously.
