I'm liking what I'm hearing though. Although I kinda hope for a AI 'Go home and make me a sandwhich, Pierce' option to get them the hell away being able to toggle the AI should help. I still think forced co-op is a poor choice - you're never going to have everyone able or wanting to play co-op, and making them isn't always the best choice - but if you have to have the damned partner theme continue, then you need to make the AI continue. Yes, I know some folks find Sheva's AI awesome. I didn't, and a lot of other people didn't, including some reviewers and such. And while I'm not the best player in the world, I'm not that shitty either. RE4 is simple enough on Normal - I found RE5 with Sheva unplayable on Easy. It was one of the first things Capcom talked about with RE6, that the AI was better, so obviously they felt the reaction to Sheva was negative.
I also like the sound of the exploration. It's obviously optional, and probably just a the odd extra section to go and get an extra gun or more supplies...frankly, I would not be surprised if you explore the entire game carefully and only add on an extra hour or two to the game, if that. But at least it's there. Hopefully, assuming there idea of exploring isn't clicking around a room after you've murdered everything in it. It would be nice to think there's extra scenes, extra snippets of story and files, maybe even game altering events down those paths but I know when to call it a day. I got some exploration. I'll be happy with that, once it's confirmed.
And you people said I was mad to complain! That nothing would ever happen because all Capcom cared about is my money! Well, I stopped giving them my money and now they fucking obey, don't they!? Bow before me, and know I and I alone saved you from RE6 playing like ORC!
Seriously, though, it is nice to see Capcom reacting to some of negative feedback. Now they just need to not bring out Resident Evil 6 - Turbo Director's Delux Edition next Spring with new content that won't be released as DLC so that the day one buyers are shafted and I might start thinking it's a company and not a soulless machine designed to bring about the Apocalypse through fan rage. Of course, RE6 is going a bit too well...maybe it;s time for Even Numbered Game Syndrome to strike, and they re-hire Mikami who cancels it and starts again?
