It flashed by so quickly, I couldn't make out much. It was from the Edonia parts of the campaign, looked dark and there was a blizzard going on.

      • Sounds great, a dark blizzard environment, I know we will most likely see a lot of that in Dead Space 3 but mixing it up in RE6 is what I wanna see.

Oh, and Barney the purple Dinosaur was getting married to Jill. I distinctly remember that from the commercial.

xD Seriously though, I think the bit I saw takes place somewhere around the Snowmobile sequence because the lighting looked similar.

          • The perfect tagline for that sequence: "Love is a snowmobile racing across the tundra and then suddenly it flips over, pinning you underneath. At night, the ice weasels come."

Except it's not. Please don't talk shit.

There are lots of different t-Viruses, both mutations and completely different viruses altogether, and not much is known about the t-Vaccine. It's something we won't know until we get an interview with the writers. It's a simple fact.

A virus would have to be similar for resistance to one to provide resistance to another. Simply being based on Progenitor is not enough. I suggest you actually do some reading on viruses. So far, only mutations of single viruses will have a carry-over effect from resistance, and even then, it's not that effective:

              July 29
As the decline in function increases, so does the large amount of processing. The contamination level has increased and the viral antibodies cannot correspond to the new strain. Workers have become infected.
This is also a primary reason why the t-Vaccine's effectiveness is called into question. If a virus can mutate so readily in the wild and completely invalidate its anitbodies, there is nothing stopping it from mutating and invalidating its vaccine. It's the same principle as influenza. Incidentally the most common influenza vaccine (TIV - trivalent influenza vaccine) contains purified and inactivated antigens against three viral strains. This is the most likely principle behind the t-Vaccine, not your laughable "one virus fits all".

                • Not me. It's a Matt Groening quote.

Anybody else getting Metal Gear Solid vibes from the Edonia campaign?

                  • I think because of MGS4 the whole bigger game with more locations and different gameplay styles is something some gamers expect from other games these days.

                    • Mgs 4 had different gameplay styles? I mean sure you got to play around with rex for a bit, but the stealth and shooting were always there. Just they changed the camera style for it, instead of using the regular overhead view.

                      • Well when you think about it, using a mech or robot is quite different from running around on foot....

You know what I mean dammit!!!

                        • I do, just felt like teasing a bit. Anyways, for re6, I'll be honest: it looks utterly dreadful.
Sure the cutscenes are nice, but the gameplay still looks inferior to dead space. Explains why, in terms of everything, I'm looking forward to deaf space 3. Lovecraftian atmosphere, de-limbing system, and characters that are actually impacted by the horrors they experience.

                          • You think de-limbing is better then shooting off limbs and watching as they mutate into different enemies? Well each to their own interests. Dead Space is really kicking itself in the balls right now from the details we know, universal ammo pickups? Enemies with guns? it's like EA seen the wrong things RE5 did and seen them as great things.

I do love how it is set on a ice planet though, as a huge The Thing fan I always wanted a horror game that took advantage of the setting, but these Dead Space 3 details are taking to much of the horror elements for it to be what I was expecting.

But hey it's EA, they probably looked at only RE5's sales numbers and made up their minds.

Dont listen to Drake, he said 'Deaf Space' instead of 'Dead Space' so clearly he cant know what hes talking about.

Though RE is long over due to go more 'Lovecraft' in their horror.

The original version of RE4 was definitely going in that direction. Oh well, maybe next game!
