Hmmm so over at the Project Umbrella Forums that Simmaria guy seems to completely hate the story in RE6 along with other things.

Like really really hate the story, like....making it out to be worse then Gears of War or Call of Duty's stories.

Is he just trying to rile up the RE fans?

Simmaria also thinks BH4 had a brilliant plot and localization, and has never valued story in the series before. I don't see why he would suddenly start, it's very much a love or hate deal.

The Edonia Republic is located in Eastern Europe. Old stone buildings are lined in a town held in the mountains where snow deepens in the winter. Other East European countries such as Edonia achieved democratization in the late 1980s. Then 20 years passed, and chaos gradually came to be seen in domestic politics. Taking advantage of this chaos, a coup d'etat by the military occurred and occupation of Edonia City Hall was carried out. However, that ironically put things in order for the government. The then prime minister, who was losing the nation's support, dissolved the Parliament. A political party which appealed for the strengthening of ties with EU nations became the dominant party instead, and the domestic politics of Edonia began to regain tranquility, little by little. On the other hand, although the influences which started the coup d'etat were gradually cornered, resulting in their annihilation, extremists became an anti-government force and continued resistance. Then, the anti-government force recovered by taking advantage of the unstable political condictions of neighboring countries. In addition, since some poor turned to rioting, it finally fell into a state of civil war in 2010.

New seeds of chaos were sown in the Edonian civil war. Under the pretense of a nutritional drug, a certain woman distributed the C-Virus to soldiers of the anti-government force Jake belonged to. Since the infected soldiers transformed into a B.O.W. called J'avo, Chris and the BSAA intervened. Thus, the Edonian civil war will reach an even more extreme degree of chaos......

I like the amount of thought they put into the Edonia backstory, but it's a little ass-backwards. With a few exceptions, the former Soviet Bloc countries have become a lot more stable over time. Unrest and military conflict were more of a 90s thing.

I'm sure not all former Soviet countries are the same, and these ones (Edonia, Eastern Slav) are fictional to make up for the lack of war going on in East Europe right now, haha.

I'm honestly surprised we haven't gotten a leaked list of the Mercenaries characters in RE6. I don't care about the obvious ones from the campaign, I'm talking Mercs only like HUNK and Wesker in RE4 or Barry and Rebecca in RE5.

Maybe there aren't any? If you count all playables we already have 7 and that's a lot more than what RE5 had to offer. It's also possible that costumes and characters that are unlockable are downloaded through residentevil.net when you buy them with points instead of being on the disc already.
