That's bullshit as far as I'm concerned (it's not really a public demo when you limit your consumerbase to essentially multiplayer gamers), but I guess I'll have to wait another week. I'm not paying for a service I won't use.

Have the DD demo's issues been fixed or is screen tearing still rampant?

Oh, oops you meant 360/PS3. I played the PS3 version and I didn't see any screen tearing from the demo. Controls felt more fluent also as opposed to the 360 version but it's just my opinion.

PS3 versions of games rarely have tearing. One of the benefits of the PS3 hardware's somewhat clunky setup from the dev side.

As for the controls, yeah, PS3 sticks seems to register input "faster", but that's nothing that can't be matched/adjusted by just fiddling with the sensitivity settings (or using a different controller type/brand).

As for the screen tearing; as I said - vsync seems to've been enabled (unless they performed optimization miracles) - not a single tear to be seen in the 360 demo.

Just played it, gotta say, I enjoyed the hell out of Leon's. Zombies really are so much fun to fight and the atmosphere is great. The car part at the end I thought was pretty damn cool as well. Jake's seemed... Hard? The Strelats seem to take a lot of damage, as well as dish out a lot. Chris's demo... Ehhh, it was OK. The Ogroman fight was good, but fighting the normal Javo was a bit annoying. I hate the cover system, it seems like it barely works. I found myself just running out and shooting everything point blank, which worked for the most part.

All right.. I was at least curious to try this demo (a bit excited even), to give this game the benefit of doubt and I know it's only a demo. Been counting down the days to play this. But -- holy crap is this game/demo horrible!! At least Jake's/Sherry's is as it's the only one i've tried so far. It looks like crap and plays like crap. Why am I being mobbed my luchador wrestlers?

There's not even any sense of excitement or tension in this. I opted to just run past the wrestlers and through the level, it became really boring really fast. I hope the other 2 scenarios are better than this, because so far, RE5 and ORC are gold compared to this, and it certainly can't touch Revelations. I don't mean to sound so harsh on this game, but i'm really disappointed. Wow.

Played through all three chapters twice and found it really fun. The camera took time to adjust to it at first, but it really isn't that horrible.. Yeah it's a little close, yeah it's hard to see things around you.. So what? No other RE game has had a fantastic camera (4/5 wasn't exactly great for awareness behind you)
The controls and aiming are fine. Again, it just takes time to adjust. If you've come fresh from 5 or Revelations, what do you expect? You just walk into the game and become a pro? If you've only played it once and you're complaining it's too hard, maybe you need to practice more. You can't really judge it based on you having trouble because you don't know controls or mechanics enough.
The cover system doesn't work that well though, it does work, it's just a struggle.
Not really pointing rants at anyone in particular , I've seen a lot of criticism over the demo from other places, lots of it seems like bitching and whining for the sake of it.

I was pleasantly surprised when I started playing, within the space of 2 minutes I was already in control of what Leon was doing and were I was looking.

But I am really not surprised if people are bitching about it, after all most people don't like games to be different or they have to actually learn how to play a game.

Haven't seen a scan yet and I skimmed through the details because it seems to contain some spoilers but I read that a magazine mentions 10 characters being in Mercenaries mode in their review.
Other than the obvious Leon, Helena, Chris, Piers, Jake, Sherry and Ada there are apparently 3 more. Common sense would probably make me assume Jill, Claire and Wesker being the last 3 but it's Capcom so probably not?

Just tried the other 2. Chris' was boring after a few minutes, quit that one too. Tried Leon/Helena. Only decent one, found it to be at least tolerable. Some ok parts but I still ran through groups of zombies to get it over with.

Anyone else notice the zombie falling apart animations so reminiscent of Doom 3? Not really a bad thing, but curious. I looked for a way to turn that annoying white waypoint marker off, didn't see an option. Ah well. This game isn't hard, just a little on the boring side to me so it gives me little motivation to play it.

Get whatever version you can play with your friends or you feel most comfortable with. I prefer the PS3 Dualshock but that's obviously just me.
And yeah, the CE is only available in Europe.
