  • I think Chris's scenario is kind of a 50/50 thing for me. Some stuff in there really pissed me off while others where very enjoyable. The final boss showdown was crap IMO and so was that whole stage. It seems like some of the stuff in his campaign was lifted from the Uncharted series..

    Spoiler:

Leon's was my favorite, excluding the 5th chapter. The 5th chapter to me was a mess. I didn't have that many negative points on Leon's campaign as it met and exceeded my expectations. If a new Zombie driven RE where to come out, this would be it. I think the diving, rolling, and crouching controls work best for his campaign.

As for Jake's campaign, I have not played it yet. I hated it in the demo, so I'll probably still hate it..

    Oh and about Leon's campaign:

Ultimately Dead Space 2 is a better game imo, by miles, not just because it's a true horror game but just in general. The games design, technical execution, it's just a much higher quality product and so much more enjoyable to play. Like many Capcom products these days RE6 feels like a sloppy cash in, I can't shake that feeling.
      Ummm...

like poor and forgettable stage design, rampant AI, lack or puzzles, lack of items or points to investigate, non stop machine gun action (literally, it never stops), annoying music, complete lack of horror, the list goes on. His scenario was literally painful to sit through and I still haven't finished, I spent most of my time just wanting each chapter to end and finding that I still had more and more to do. The stages are so boring, you just run and shoot, run and shoot, there's nothing else to describe it.
You do realize that this was intentional. It's not "flaws on the design", they intented to be like that, like RE5, "fridge horror" y'know.

I haven't seen any complaints about the AI tbh

      • Yes, it is my opinion, and my opinion is that the game isn't very good for the reasons I posted above, and many more. You can make a game where you mash A to sip cups of water and the longer you take to drink the glass the more points you get. Simply stating "that's the way the game was intended to be" doesn't change the fact that the game isn't very fun and bores the living day lights out of you. If that's the way they designed the game then that's a flaw of design, I can name numerous things that would have made the experience more enjoyable, both from a design point and a technical point. If you disagree then that's fair enough.

            • I was playing co-op last night with a friend and I completely forgot about the cross over sections. Him and I got to a part with Chris, Piers, Sherry, and Jake and I was quite surprised to see both Sherry and Jake being controlled by someone else. I thought it was pretty neat anyway.

I beat Leon and Chris's campaigns so far. I enjoyed both quite a lot except for a select few sections. I'm doing Jakes now. So far, I'm not minding it. It's probably the worst of the 3 but some of the complaints I've heard made it sound like it was the worst thing ever. I just started chapter 3 though, so maybe it'll get worse?

              • I love Ada's campaign...probably my favorite runner up to Sherry & Jake's. Their campaign brought me joy and brought me long awaited answers to questions I had about Sherry <3

Agreed. I never would have thought this before playing the game (it looked like the weakest), but after playing it became evident that this campaign had the least amount of QTEs/scripted events and the largest amount of actual fun gameplay. There were a few moments I disliked, such as...

But that's literally it; everything else about this campaign was gold. The lack of boring QTEs and scripted events really shined here. My favorite chapter was 2, in the Edonian town. I loved the setting here, as well as in Jake's first chapter.

Overall, I can't decide if Jake's or Ada's scenario was the weakest. Ada's felt so tacked-on, and aside from a few fun sections, was mostly boring.
                  Mass production? Ridiculous!

There's nothing worse than that damn snow level. And it is the worse thing ever. You can't see shit and the map barely helps. And the part where you slide down if you try to evade gunfire... fuck that shit.

The China part plays out like a Jackie Chan movie. Lots of ridikulas stuff happening all the time. I liked the puzzles though.

                    • Just beat Chris' campaign on professional. The difficulty of professional in this game is nothing compared to RE5, hardly has any challenge to it.

That's because Professional is not the hardest difficulty setting this time.

Either way I don't understand why Capcom even bothers with VAs other than English. The Italian dub is awful just like it was in Revelations. Either do it right or don't do it, don't give me this horrible mess. I didn't think someone's voice could sound so flat and emotionless.
                        Spoiler:

I'm sure they were trying to save money with these dubs but if you're going to make them this bad just put this money elsewhere. The movies aren't any better though, maybe it's just a Capcom issue at directing or finding proper VAs.

                        • Just finished Jake's scenario. Infinitely better than Chris', by a mile. It does have its fair share of problems but it's got a much better balance between action and exploration. In Chris' scenario you pick up a machine-gun and literally don't stop shooting untill the scenario finishes, in Jake's you have nice periods where you can stop, take a breather and enjoy the environment around you without having to worry too much about the enemies, I think that's important in a game like this. After playing Jake's scenario my impressions on this game have deffinately changed, as I thought they would, it just seems to work a lot better.

                          • ^ Chris has breaks in action though.

He and Piers even have time to chill on the playground like bros.

Once you've seen Chris ride one of those little spring animal rides and Piers slide down a little slide, you've seen it all.

                              Best part of the game.

In regards to Jake's scenario, I just played it again as Sherry and liked it a little more. I still think it's the weakest of the four scenarios, though. Too many QTEs and scripted segments and not enough actual gameplay. Chris's had much more gameplay.

True. Though after what I'd played through those parts were kind of meaningless to me, they were cool but I just wanted it to be over. With Jake's scenario I was actually enjoying my self so I kind of wanted to stick around the stages more and enjoy the game I was playing. There was too much going on in Chris' scenario all the time, I literally got headaches at some point just trying to get through it.

Odd tid bit of trivia, in Chapter 3 of Jake's scenario Capcom reused some assets from the University in Leon's scenario, the shell structures of some corridors are basically carbon copies with different textures, fittings and connecting rooms. You know the room with the young girl you find in the University with Leon? The corridor that leads to to that room with the planks of wood you have to walk under, play Chapter 3 of Jake and see if you can find it.
