Am I the only one who is glad to hear this? Don't get me wrong - I liked a lot of things about RE6 - but perhaps this will speak to Capcom about how releasing a game full of QTEs, annoying scripted gameplay, boring vehicle sections, and loads of other problems is not a good idea.
    Mass production? Ridiculous!

I mean how difficult it is to display which hosts already "exceeded maximum allowed players" and which not?! So we don't have to blindly keep trying to connect to those 3 green bars only to get cock-blocked every time, refresh the search and do this crap again 75 times in a row.
Yeah that 15 or so second wait everytime a room is full and need re-search is really annoying, why does it need take you backwards a menu, why not leave the list there for us to try someone else?

      • Well . . . Slowpoke here . . . What can I say that probably hasn't been said already? What a disappointment this ended up being.

Seems to sum it up quite nicely. I nearly bought this piece of crap but had the piece of mind to come on here and see what the overall vibe was first. You all seem divided on it, so in the end I just rented it and am so relieved I did. What makes it so disheartening is it does a few things really well but you have to endure far more than you enjoy. It began to feel like a chore and in the end I stopped healing and was just checkpoint hopping ammo and health were far too scarce for the number of enemies especially in the forced siege moments ie the gunstore in Leon's campaign. Far too many insta-deaths, the sneaking around Ustanak (?) was good but having already fought him felt void. Little things irritated too like the way the camera always reset to the left shoulder when playing as Helena/Sherry/Pierce after any scene change etc, also being surrounded by enemies because they kept advancing while you were stuck on the spot during countless unskippable camera pans, again the gunstore was terrible for this. Parts of Leon's campaign harked back but you lost health SO easily just being grabbed you could lose 3/4 squares yet Jake/Sherry could take a beating and lose a square at best it was unnerving at first and taught you to dodge but became tedious considering the length of the chapters and lack of health items. I was also unimpressed by not being able to sort my items while carrying Deborah denying me two red herbs as we descended to her inevitable fate, a part I enjoyed and not for the naked writhing fem-boss. I enjoyed where the story was going but in the end I took it back without finishing it cause it just got tedious and felt tired and unpolished, so maybe next year I'll pick it up dirt cheap until then I'm off back to Pandora . . .

As a parting comment I shall point out that I had more fun playing RE:ORC! That's not right at all is it? But at least you could just pick that up, dick about shooting some zombies and I dunno actually have FUN doing it . . . RE6 made me angry and frustrated it felt like an endurance test. "How much crap will you swallow before you cave?" My breaking point was the insta-death Simmon's train derailment . . . friends I've asked didn't get that far.

Capcom, ya fucked it up royal.

          • Last boss of the Chris scenario has been one of the biggest pain in the ass ever in professional on my first run, I felt like breaking my dual shock. Seriously, when you have to exploit the poor AI of super cheap bosses, something's not right.

            • I assume this is for graphical/performance etc? I'd say before you consider that rent it and see what you think of the actual game itself cause my money aint exactly flowing at the mo and if I'd paid full price for any version I'd feel ripped off. Of course you may love it but it's been so divided I recommend dipping yer toe in with a rental on the PS3 version to see if it's to your taste . . .

What exactly is the issue you're having? I had zero issue with any of the bosses... even on my Pro run.

On this topic, I just earned my Platinum Trophy 5 minutes ago!

                • Constant one shots, Piers' AI is fucking retarded and he makes no damage at all since he never aims for the weakspots. If you don't turn in circle around the boss and use its dumb AI to your own advantage, it's nearly impossible to beat it in a fair way.

                  • The only advice I could give you is to play the game co-op, yes yes I know the AI should still be acceptable to do these tasks but the fact is RE5 and RE6 are designed for co-op and that is the way they should be played. Infact RE5 and RE6 is some of the most co-op demanding games to get the right experience I have ever seen. AI just does not cut it for these games full experience.

does anyone ever played kirby super star on super nes? there is a campaign which is impossible in single player.

anyway, its bad they keep with a crappy AI and argues its a multiplayer focused game. someday they will ban single player and will not let us to play the game unless there is another player. but i think RE5 AI its just fine. and i rather single player in the first try of my games. because i dont want someone bored ruin the rythm running like a crazy man. RE5 is full of those.

I don't know how much it will help, but nitrogen rounds will slow the boss down.

                        • That's the only reason co-op games even have an AI partner, because people would complain about it. That Single Player option if taken out completely would cause an uproar.

                          • So I just finished Leon's campaign. I've done the first two chapters of both Chris and Jake.

Are ropes the new "Complete... Global... SATURATION!!"?? It took me soo long to figure out how to do it. I can't imagine playing that segment with a new player online. Did Capcom even play test it?!

                            • Am I the only one who has had the inventory accidentally open during a bite/grab QTE? It has probably caused me a couple of deaths and dying status, some during an almost perfect combo chain in Mercenaries, which makes it all the more frustrating. I don't know if it's because my controller isn't as tight as it used to be, or because I'm exerting effort in doing the on-screen prompt, but they really should have disabled the d-pad inventory during the attack QTEs. At the very least, make it function only immediately after you have already either failed or succeeded in doing the button prompt. It's not like you even have a reason to open it when you're busy mashing the heck out of X or rotating the analog sticks. Ugh.

The play testers probably didn't have this issue, as they're probably using brand new Dualshock 3 controllers, which don't have loose pressure sensitive faceplate buttons. But still, why the heck would I want to open my god damn inventory when I'm busy trying to not get shoved down a meat grinder!?

Ugh, seriously. I was in dismay each and every time I encountered the rope segments. I still haven't mastered it; it's far too flunky, and it really interrupts the pace of the game, as you're trying to figure out to accomplish this asinine QTE.
