  • Does anyone else get sad/depressed when they play the old games or

    listen to their soundtracks?

I know it sounds silly, but I miss old RE a WHOLE lot. It's not just the gameplay, but the story, the music, the characters who actually serve a damn purpose and have more personality than Sheva and Excella combined.

Probably part nostalgia, but I sometimes get sad when listening to the soundtracks. It just isn't the same anymore.

    That's just nostalgia.

As I said, a part of it is. But then there's a part of that realizes that all games (not just Capcom) have gone down in quality. They don't make the same impression on us anymore. There are very little games that are actually good...but the rest? Just average.

Every game now holds your hand, they tell you what to do, blah blah blah. Same thing with RE. There's no exploration; a gold marker in REvelations told you where to go. In RE4/5 it was a simple follow this path, there you will find the pot of gold!

As bad as RE1's voice acting might have been, it was an amazing game that did something unexpected and never was really done before, despite the 2D so called 'horror adventure' titles previously developed.

No, you're just nostalgic. Especially when you prattle on about how the characters had more personality than specific 5 characters. It was just as much, if not less than the characters in 5. You'll never convince me that characters like Enrico or Kenneth who have about a paragraph worth of character written in a game manual will ever have as much personality as Excella for instance.

Enrico had a lot more personality than Excella. Especially Kenneth.

And there in proves my point. Minute characters with little actual characterization in the game and even further from their manual somehow prove to have more personality than one of the supporting villains of the fifth entry.

It's not "part nostalgia". It's "all nostalgia". And no amount of crying yourself to sleep from the soundtracks of classic games will take away that you're still attached to the series. Why else would you flaunt your posts around with a Darkside Chronicles Steve signature and an avatar of RE5 Chris' nipple? It's like you don't even know what you want from these games when you stick current games on your profile and then preach the opposite. There's still much faith in these games.

No one cares about your wall of texts or your attitude or your bad attempt at trolling. Carry on somewhere else.

The only reason why I use Chris' RE5 costume as an avatar is because it's the only time where Chris has no shirt on and fits my username. The only reason I use DSC artwork in my sig is because there is little to no SB artwork for CVX. You're pretty daft if you couldn't figure that out.

If what can barely be described as two paragraphs equate to a wall of text then might I ask how you managed to play through the classic games? Cause it sounds as though you're not driven to play, read or listen to things that are simple yet encourage some form of thinking.

You're a public display of uncertainty. Disapproving of what you cling to your posts in the form of the recent biohazard games. It's a wonder you concluded I'm some sort of troll with attitude based entirely on a "wall of text".

Get off your high horse. It's based on previous posts of yours that are...just boring to put it, quite frankly. Wall of text is indeed the wrong term but it's late.

And for your information, it's not like Enrico and Kenneth don't have a back story. Moreso the former, as he played a role in both REmake and 0. Excella was some bitch in a white dress who thought she was so important when she was nothing but an air head.

Yes, Enrico was in Zero, but what does that speak about his character? For any information you can pull on him other than appearance or role in the story I bet I can list an equal or wider range when it comes to Excella.

Nostalgia only makes you see that he was in two games. It doesn't wake you up to remind you that his screen presence is minute at best, and aside from a heroics attitude there's not much else about him that displays to the audience that he has more characterization than Excella. And when you say Kenneth does that also really stretches it because he too was in Zero. But you didn't list that because he's barely involved. As far as the first game goes he's merely zombie food and any ounce of info you learn about him is taken from outside the game.

And what's to say of Excella? Oh it's the same old cliche'd big breasted female in white who thinks she has power. At least Capcom had excuses to use the heroic attitudes of Enrico and Kenneth...

Quite a bit actually that's provided in the actual game and not merely outside material. Not just her relations to Wesker and Tricell but the little things like family history and personal goals all add into that pot. But even in terms of screen presence she's still a dominating force over the body count characters from the first game and it's lesser appreciated prequel. But as I've said I'm willing to give you a chance to support your claim by giving me examples from the games to use in your defense.

                            I'm not getting into this...

But I will say on the note of listening to the soundtracks, at least one thing you can say irrespective of whether you prefer the older games or not, the soundtracks is something that sis consistant.

I prefer some soundtracks over others, doesn't matter if the music came from older or recent games. Code Veronica has one of my favorites. Revelations is a recent RE game with an amazing soundtrack.
