I CAN'T BELIEVE CALLING ALL CARS WASN'T NOMINATED!!

Man up people. Resident Evil 4 is hailed by many as one of the greatest games of all time. It was released on PSN on 2011. I'm sure you can work out the rest.

Brings up an interesting thought on whether or not re-releases should be allowed to be nominated for such awards.

As for how it won in the end blame the general masses who will play garBage HD ports and not care. It was user voted after all.
My bad i was sure I said in a while. I meant its been a while since RE won an award.

RE5 certainly didn't cover the series in glory. Maybe some fabulous stars, but no glory.

I'm not that surprised. It still has a lasting appeal on a large portion of the gamer community.

My point is, RE4 HD deserved a better port. You yourself mentioned this - great game, mediocre port.

Can't remember saying (or in fact caring) about it being "mediocre". It's still better than 99% of the games released in this generation.

Agreed. This generation sucks so much.
I would be happy playing RE4 24h per day instead of buying a PS3.

It's okay Darkmoon, he is only saying what we were all thinking this time anyway :p Seriously if old games are better that 99% of this gen then why dont you just give up caring about games. Would save us from having to hear you whine about almost everything :p

In all seriousness though I wouldn't fully disagree, I am more selective than I used to be due to the derivative and carbon copy sequels frequently released in the last 5 years. I wouldn't say it 99% but it's not much better.

Finally if RE4 is a god level game to you, you should be upset about the fact the lazy HD port won an award. If it's such an important game why should Capcomget away with slacking on the port. If it had been a high quality port I think most people wouldn't have questioned the award as much.

Simply because what's the point? Upset that one of my favourite games of all time won an award?

But let's be honest here - i think we both know that yes, people would've complained if the port had been handled properly. There are complaints here that aren't even related to the port itself after all. Capcom could've knocked it out of the park and there would still be people throwing their toys out of the pram.

The port was adequate, nothing more. I've come to know Capcom well enough to know they were never going to give the game the treatment it deserves - so you learn to manage your expectations. The moment the achievements were announced should've been enough to tell you corners were going to be cut.

I played it, i loved it. Still had as much as i ever have playing it. If people want to get upset over a few resolution issues then that's fair enough - but it's not for me. If i did have those kinds of concerns, i'd simply play the Wii Edition which is still as definitive as it gets for RE4.

Just to clarfiy, my statement of RE4 being better than 99% of games this generation wasn't a statement regarding the quality of this generation (which i think has been outstanding despite a lack of new ideas much of the time), but more for the quality of RE4.
