The R.P.D. officers were just ones who had escaped from the station through the sewers, and happened to come across the laboratory. There wasn't really anything special about the Umbrella van. At least it isn't actually explained. Kamiya might know about it, why not ask him?

Yes, it is. Some people are good at a game. Some aren't. Most people find games difficult the first time around and find it easier the more they play it. It's a matter of opinion and experience.

And Resident Evil 2 is a freaking easy game. If you suck at playing it, that's another problem, but don't come saying it's as hard as BH1's arranged mode or Dead Space 1 and 2. You don't need to be a "powerless" civilian to make a survival horror game work. Dead Space is MUCH harder than any resident evil game, and it features a guy in fully upgradable armor fighting hordes of monsters with an insane arsenal of weapons. Compared to those games the latest resident evil are arcade games.

I didn't say it was as hard as BH1's arranged mode or Dead Space, and I didn't say being "powerless" was utterly essential for Survival Horror. To be frank, I really don't give a fuck. Err, no. I simply repeated what Kamiya said since an explanation was requested, and that was Kamiya's explanation. Kamiya is the only one "grannying" about anything. I have absolutely zero stake in it.

Yeah sure....Did you ever played REmake or Zero. Those two classic RE games are much harder than any Dead Space game. If you have trouble play Dead Space than you probably aren't best player out there... Dead Space is child's game exactly because of armor, big arsenal of weapons.

I hope this prototype becomes a vaccine to all this bullshit drama when it's released.

Then again if it does, then Kamiya-san will be harassed by every fan asking him about every single damn detail in that proto (more so than the ignorant pests who bug him about DmC). As a result, he will suffer PTSD from remembering all that hell he went through making that game (he made a comment like that, actually) and will likely shut down his Twitter account from all the stress that said pests give him.
