Not sure if they've done one covering the G-virus extensively yet, but I do recall its effects being compared to those of cancer's.

I wasn't aware of this until recently when it was brought up in the latest podcast. Is this another "lost in translation" moment? It sounds a lot like Uroboros, to be honest. Was the creature William became an example of a G-human, or was that just an unexpected turn for the worse? I'm assuming that G-creatures are what we fight in RE2's A scenario and Below Freezing Point in Outbreak.
It was all explained by Mr. Kawamura, the scenario writer of BH3:

Q18) You are credited under "Special Thanks" for the BIOHAZARD DEGENERATION movie. What were your contributions to the movie's production?

I answered questions about the different variations of the virus - what the original Progenitor Virus was, what the T-Virus is and what the G-Virus is - as asked by the producer, Mr. Kobayashi.
I shouldn't really talk about the Progenitor Virus as there are recent developments in that area.

The T-Virus is essentially a mutagen virus that is capable of inducing sudden mutations on the subject. Upon infection, it rewrites the DNA of the subject and mutates it into a creature with different properties. By figuring out how to carefully control this mutagenic property, Umbrella was able to craft their various bio-weapons. Even so, because each creation is the result of a mutation, if one wanted to reproduce an identical result, the use of cloning was necessary.

The G-Virus on the other hand, is different. The purpose of the G-Virus is not to just induce random mutations like the T-Virus does, but to induce mutations that can evolve the subject into a new breed, or a separate stable species. In other words, if two dogs were to be successfully infected with the G-Virus, the resulting G-dogs should be capable of breeding with each other.

The ultimate goal for Dr. Birkin was to create and breed G-humans, an evolved super-human species, by using the G-Virus. This is the reason this virus would sometimes be referred to as the "God Virus". Unfortunately, the G-Virus never properly stabilized onto Dr. Birkin and the scientist himself was unable to become a G-human.

Though Wesker later gained super-human abilities, because he went through a different process, he is technically not considered to be a G-human. Theoretically, a true G-human is expected to have equivalent super-human traits while maintaining reproductive capabilities as a species. It is unknown whether Wesker possessed similar reproductive capabilities.
The whole thing about the virus failing to stabilize onto Birkin wasn't mentioned directly in BH2, but it is mentioned by Annette in Darkside Chronicles.

She was also never technically cured of it in the first place, just like Jill and the T virus. That's why she's been in government custody this whole time. You can't tell me that's not going to factor into the plot of RE6. Jake's "save the douchebag, save the world" story may be a red herring.
If Jake was just a normal dude who happened to have a cure for the world, I might believe that he would be a red herring. But unfortunately he's Wesker's son, which means he will most likely play a more important role in the story than Sherry. Either way, though, I have a feeling that Jake and Sherry will be groomed to be the new main protagonists of the series, since according to Capcom, Leon and Chris (and thus obviously Jill and Claire) are "getting up there in years." Since, you know, mid-30s is "old." I fully expect RE7 to be a Jake and Sherry scenario of running around with near invincibility and melee killing everything in their paths.

Thanks for the info. I never took anything in the RE2 and CVX portions of Darkside seriously, since I thought it wasn't canon. But I guess they found a way to sneak some canon stuff in there, anyway!
      Mass production? Ridiculous!

Let's not forget that Sherry's blood is just as "cursed" as Jake's - if not more so. He can save the world; she could destroy it. It'll be a factor, if only because Capcom is already shipping them ridiculously hard (Their bios on the RE6 Japanese site are about as subtle as a Leona Lewis song). Still, I'd be fine with seeing Jake and Sherry "take over" from at least some of the core cast, especially because I think Chris is going down Boromir-style in this game.
