  • Why did William Birkin go after Ben?

Alright, I was playing RE2 maybe like a month ago and forgot about this until now.

How exactly did Birkin get into the locked prison cell and why did he go after Ben? It seems throughout the game he wants to infect Sherry since she would accept the embryo...but Ben seems random.

Most likely just a case of being in the wrong place in the wrong time.

Still doesn't explain how he got in the locked cell lol. It doesn't appear as he broke through. He just...appears.

I think he comes out from a hole in the ceiling.

No, the cell's open when you go there.
Maybe Ben has changed his mind and decided to find an exit.
And got cornered by Birkin when he tried to go out.

Maybe Birkin ate the door. O_O

Alright, but where was Birkin before he injected Ben?

I don't think he would be in the same area but I can't remember the whereabouts of birkin

Another question would be how G-Birkin was able to fit through the manhole in the kennel. The opening clearly wasn't big enough.
                Mass production? Ridiculous!

Well, mice can slip through spaces that only their head can fit through, collapsing the rest of their body to slip through. As mutative as the G-Virus is, perhaps those infected have such a mechanic at their disposal.

Before Claire and Sherry went to the sewers, William passed by an unaccessible area between the sewer and the RPD.
                    He must have been there.

                      Alright, he's in the basement.

He drops from the cieling apparently.

                      Must be on 1F.

                      Basement --> 1F = ???

                      MYSTERY!!

I can totally see him using a clipping hack to go from room to room. G stands for Gameshark Virus now, eh?
