This ending wasn't in theaters. This clip you posted was how it was originally going to be the first movie's ending before it was cut in favor if the 'Raccoon City' ending.

As far the NA releases are concerned you'd find this in the special features of the 'Deluxe Edition' and Blu-Ray. But it has nothing to do with the fifth film.

Yer preaching to the choir, I was a film student in college and now I write and direct my own toons online. Things don't always go the way you want and sometimes you have to make changes fast.

But there's also something to be said about making shit for the sake of shit because people will continue to pay money to see it -_-

I wasn't implying that it was the ending in theaters--just the fact I only own the original bare bones dvd release, which didn't have the alternate ending on it. Honestly, the way the scene's shot, it's hard to tell it was shot for the first movie.(lol at her wearing the same red-mini dress at the end, when it's suppose to be 6 months later) At first I thought it was a commercial or something for one of the movies. Anyways, mystery solved!

Apocalypse was released before RE4, and I am just highly speculating, but maybe it is possible that his harm even extended above the cinematic version of RE? I've always thought about this....
When RE4 was first envisioned, when it was in development, they morphed the project into DMC because it got too far away from survival horror. RE: Apocalypse was released in 2004 (you know how it was) and made a lots of money. It kind of felt as a live action prototype of RE4, because there were characters saying goofy lines, boxing match with Nemesis, kung fu with zombies etc., and in RE4, which was released in 2005, suddenly it is Ok for them to release an RE4 which is basically an action game (and Leon suddenly transforms into Milla Jovovich in terms of his ''badassness'').

I am just saying it just could be possible that makers could've probably got a somewhat of an inspiration from RE1 and Apocalypse, because they without a doubt watched them, and knew how much money they grossed.

The movies did not inspire anything. BH4 and Apocalypse were two completely separate projects, with BH4 being in development first. Release dates don't mean dick.

If I recall correctly the original movie release in N.A. didn't have anything of value in terms of special features. I believe it was when the second movie was coming out they put out the deluxe edition.

Speaking of that ending, that's another thing I could not stand about those movies. Why did Anderson or anyone else who directed those movies feel the need to keep reminding the viewers and the Umbrella employees who they work for? Every time they show an Umbrella location they feel the need to throw in as many Umbrella Corp logos as possible. It's why I never believed Anderson said he understands the series. The man messed up a lot of things including the color of the T-Virus which I can perhaps overlook but the whole purpose of the company was to keep things a secret. Instead they always flash the Umbrella Corp logo around on everything. Even ORC had Umbrella Corp logos on everything.

Didn't a game also use that stupid ass 'Red Queen' thing too?
I also remember Outbreak using 'The Hive' as the name of a scenario, though Outbreak isnt exactly cannon or a good example for a lot of things.

                    • Yes, Umbrella Chronicles uses the Red Queen.

                      • The later designs of things like the virus capsules and the containers that hold the samples also feel inspired from the movie.

Umbrella Chronicles used Red Queen as the AI that "protects" I guess Umbrella's database and it got wiped out.. The first Outbreak had "The Hive" just as the name of Raccoon's hospital scenario, it isn't an actual name for anything, and I believe the Outbreaks are canon.

                          • Raccoon City design in games set there after the movies matches the movies design of the city moreso also.

Funny thing is that they also hinted at a White Queen as well and Extinction used a White Queen AI.

The only game set in Raccoon City post-movies is Operation Raccoon City, which doesn't really matter. The Outbreaks use the design of Raccoon City that was set in place since 1999, when the city map was actually drawn. Everything in the Outbreaks was made to work within that general layout.

RED QUEEN resembles the AI in the movies literally in name only.
