Can't disagree more. I love CVX, but the FMVs in HD look like trash on all three of my HDTVs.

Without going too deep into technical aspects, here are comparison screen shots from the game's intro on Gamecube and PS3.
These are original game video files, running in their native resolution. No conversion, transcoding, filtering etc.

      Spoiler:

Gamecube's FMVs had the best video quality, when compared to PS2's and Dreamcast's versions of Code Veronica.
Who ever was making the HD port could at least take those files and upscale them properly using all kind of modern day filters.
Instead they did an incredibly sloppy job, just look at the PS3's intro file size. Like they didn't give a damn.

^What? The PS3 version uses the Microsoft WMV9 codec for its FMVs?

Also, regarding the HD Chronicles; as nice as they are on PS3 in hi-res, I can't help but shake my head at how HORRIBLE the PlayStation MOVE controller is. Sure; it doesn't have the "flicker/jerkyness" you sometimes get with the Wii remote, but it's so HORRIFYINGLY unprecise for aiming (and getting it to track movement 1:1-ish is a lost cause) and it keeps losing track of its centerpoint so friggin often that every darned game has a re-calibration shortcut (if only more games were as awesome as Skyward Sword and just had its quick center "reset" function)

Thank you, now I don't have to get one.

These games are all about the controls, as nice as HD is I'm fine with Wii component, what good is a pretty experience if the controls suck?

Though the controls dont translate massevly well using a controller, they are better than I thought they would be. They do however look great and translate very well to HD. Very pleased.

Also never really realised before how obvious it is that Billy has two voice actors. Really poor.

Whoops, my mistake. I used Xbox360's file as an example instead of PS3's one.
WMV is for Xbox360, while PAM (Playstation Advanced Movie) is for PS3.
Good that you pointed that out.

However quality wise - it's the same crappy upconvert.

I edited the previous post with screenshots.

Shoot him in the weak spot for massive damage and dodge the QTEs. Is a rail shooter, not a lot of tactics involved.

I do love the ease of using the knife with a DS3 controller. Darkside critical headshots are still BS though, half the time does not work still and get a regular hit on the perfect spot.

Must say I loathe the controls during the boss fights, other times they don't me but christ certain boss fights are an absolute nightmare.

But by gods do the textures look amazing. The games look fantastic, the Zero and Remake sections are unbelievable how much they're improved, and Darkside looks absolutely mega. It really shows up the Wii as the type of machine it could of been if it had HD out of the box.

UC cutscenes are upscaled. Also the subtitles are cropped. I also notice the profile pics for the character selection has be touched up on. They're more detailed and have more shading on them.

Haha, the spelling errors are getting silly now, though I assume it was in the Wii original, i've only noticed just now due to the sharper menus.

Check the Resident Evil 3 polaroid on the main menu. Raccoon Ctiy indeed.
