    Thanks for the info.

It really does suck, though, that Leon's most entertaining personality was the result of a localization fuck-up. And I thought Chris was boring until I saw Leon in Degeneration...

Perhaps around the time of Operation Javier? Wasn't there a file in Darkside Chronicles that hinted toward Ada's (Asian woman) involvement in the BOW market or something? Might be another localization screw-up, though.
    Mass production? Ridiculous!

So what about RE6, do you feel his true personality is intact?

Emo is short for emotional. If he was emotionless in Degeneration then how can you apply the emo tag?
In all seriousness, way to fuck up a great character. I hate some localizing efforts that completely change the original intentions from the developers of characters/scripts/the whole game...

EDIT: Woah, didn't realize so many posts were posted before my post. Sorry.

I do realize that. I just call him emo just because of that, the whole president crying scene and his bieber haircut.

          EDIT

Emo for me is "I don't care about life..."
          Just that.

You guessed right. It's another localization screw-up. The person mentioned in those two files is neither male nor female, they're just "the Asian". Wesker also claims that they are an Umbrella spy, which he wouldn't do if it was Ada (who works for him).

Hilariously, the localization refers to the Asian as both male and female in each file. But hey, the localizations are consistent amirite?

When was Leon crying when he had to shoot the president? he was startled not crying.

It looks like it so far. He's much older in BH6 than he is in BH4 and Degeneration so there may be slight changes.

                  I didn't meant it literal.
I've put "crying" because Leon has taken longer than any other RE character to shoot his "BFF ever since 1998".

It will be interesting to finally get to know the true character. I have to admit his character did seem very sincere in the demo, very natural as if nothing was forced out of him.

Leon is very serious, dedicated to his work and deeply wants to help the others. Even though I liked the idea of Leon changing over the years between RE2 and RE4, something was wrong about his RE4 persona. Guess I finally understand why.

Meh, I still like his snarky attitude as well as Paul Mercier's performance. He pulled it off well.

I like the fact that the characters have changed and aged over time. They've been affected by their experiences. The localization thing aside, Leon's quips in RE4 can be interpreted as a coping mechanism. Who's to say it wasn't fitting in context?

Because his "coping mechanism" doesn't appear anywhere else. They don't tend to appear and disappear so suddenly in real people.

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds... as they say. I have to admit, I still enjoy Leon's smarmy side as much as I do his serious (and apparently canon) personality. In my mind, he will always be that same cocky bastard he was from RE4.

                                Just one thing I'd like to shoot in here;

I'm not so sure I would read too much into the Japanese subtitle script in terms of character portrayals and personality.
Everyone I know who's fluent in japanese, be they professional translators, native speakers or just someone who's generally fluent in Japanese, have commented on the Biohazard subtitle script have said they read like *drumrolls* subtitle scripts and not actual dialog. (There is a substantial difference.)
