    Foreign rom hackers can usually do both, especially if the source language is English, that's why the international community tends to consider rom hackers and translators pretty much the same thing when it comes to this field.

    Anyways, back to the original discussion: the checksum protection that many RE hackers seem to be afraid of is kinda simple to defeat. Weird how nobody ever thought about contacting one of those translation groups, asking them how they fixed the problem.
