[RELEASE] Project: Biohazard 2 - Prereleased [BH2 TRIAL - PS1]

  • First of all hello world and great release!
    I know a lot of you people from lurking the bioflames forum so I want to say thanks for all your endeavors and knowledge on the trial.
    However there is one thing that i have always been wondering:

    1) How do you get such cheat codes as for example the hidden Memory Card or Difficulty setting with pec ? I know how to get basic stuff like ammo or lifes but I would not know how to search for such an entry even if i suspected it to exist.
    (Which in this case is pretty easy to believe to exist since it has a .tim file displaying everything you hacked out.) Since some of the coolest PSX game code hacks that i know of come from you guys it would be pretty cool and a general blessing to the BETA community if anyone would shed some light on this. Sometimes I wish the FF7 Trial would get as much attention as BH2 Trial but I think there is not that much interesting stuff on it given its size....

    2) One thing that I have always wondered about is the fourth "interactive" block in the inventory in BH2 Trial. You know like : Use, Examine, Combine, Grayed Out. Going to COMMON/DATA/ has two files that are interesting: ST1 which might be an leftover Inventory from BH 1.5 but maybe can be hacked out again? ST_FILE which displays commands not accessible in the Trial. One being Partner and the other one i cannot read. I guess that those are blocked out commands in the Inventory like in they did with the title screen as can be concluded from the .tim files. Maybe someone from you might take a closer look at that?

      edit: finally got around to playing. even with the newest revision you posted, the game for some reason freezes on ePSXe 1.7.0 after Ada fires a bullet at Leon and it cuts back to him. it looks like his character model was still breathing, iirc, but i couldn't move him..any ideas?

      also, to anyone interested in playing this with a ps3 sixaxis or ds3, there's signed drivers out now for win7 (previously you had to disable driver signature enforcement) http://www.hardcoreware.net/how-to-p...ndows-7-vista/ with the DS3 Tool you can map controller buttons to keyboard keys easily.

        Access the inventory, leave and then you can regain control of Leon... LOL, just realised how old that comment was haha, oh well...

        So I guess the developer is no longer working on the project?

        • So does anyone know what happened to this project? What hurdles did the guys working on it get stuck at? What's actually left in this build (besides to rooms mentioned, kennels, clock tower and torture room) to mess around with that hasn't yet been unlocked? I'm under the impression more was on it's way it just never got finished for whatever reasons.

            I guess pickyeater just lost motivation and/or time to continue working on it...
            I don't know if he's still present on this forum but I haven't seen him post in a long time.

            Maybe you could send him a pm, or try contacting him on his youtube channel...

                              • You have to open the inventory and close it again to get around the Ada scene, at this point a lot of people hadn't figured out how to automatically release the player from cut scenes so you have to make use of the inventory which does it for you.
