  • Hello. A former lurker posting his first post. I have two questions:

    You have to open the inventory and close it again to get around the Ada scene, at this point a lot of people hadn't figured out how to automatically release the player from cut scenes so you have to make use of the inventory which does it for you.
    I applied the patch, and have tried your method, but the game keeps ending when I try to pick up the key. I'm confused by "open the inventory and close it again." Also, geluda, what do you mean by "make use of the inventory which does it for you,"?

    Second question, and it has to do with information in a topic from four years ago. According to http://www.the-horror.com/forums/sho...-your-help!%29, one could access a bunch of rooms that aren't used in the Trial Edition. However, the person who made this patch is very hard to understand,(no offense meant, pickyeater) and I'm confused by his statement about most of the rooms on the disc that are from 1.5. Specifically, the line "...fallowing does not work......" Is he/she talking about the rooms listed below that statement, or all of the rooms after the basement section?

        Hmm weird, I tried the patch and it worked for me, try applying it again, if not it's going to depend on whether you have the same Trial Edition image as me or not. Did the patch work for you Alex?

        The way the OP worked around the Ada scene leaves a flag active which locks player 1 movement preventing you from progressing, he did not modify the game script to deactivate it for you. You can not manually deactivate the flag your self because there is no flag menu in which to do it, so in order to escape the scene you must open and close the inventory which actually deactivates the flag we need. The reason it does this is because the inventory is just an overlay that pops up over the top of the screen, when the inventory is open it activates a flag that prevents the player from moving around in the background as you're navigating the menu and selecting icons with the d-pad, when you close the menu it deactivates the flag again and allows the player to move around the game environment, which is exactly what we need. This is why opening and closing the menu allows you to escape this and many other scenes which cause player movement to freeze.

        • The patch works fine. Just a delight. =)
          In the case of a meeting with Ada, after a video of the scene I open and then close the inventory and continue playing.

            Now, I'm curious about the location modifier code in pickyeater's post in http://www.the-horror.com/forums/sho...-your-help!%29.Is it possible to access any rooms that come from 1.5? Or do they always crash the game when you try to access them?

              As far as I remember RDTs don't exist for the majority of 1.5 rooms on the Trial Edition, so there's no room data for you to actually access, hence why they always crash.
