This looks amazing. Always more inclined to take an interest in these things when the updates are fresh. Can i ask how long you're looking at making the game?

Oh, and even better that you made BrianIrons throw his toys out of the pram! Especially when he's insisted he WASN'T (the banned) HecRPD but in fact his brother! haha

        Thanks Stu

It is planned to have the same play-time of the full game, the work continues and we might at least the rest of the year to finish off work.
So a release before 2013 is unlikely. But we definitely look for releasing a demo this year.

Germany was never going to use biological weapons in WWII. Just thought I'd point that out. Apart from that, neat! We're working on something similar, incidentally with similar German focuses.

I'm german myself and I'm aware of that ;)

            The facts:

            - Germany had no real intention of producing bioweapons in WW2, however.. in 1940 after the germans had captured Paris, they've found a bioweapons lab which they continued to used. The name of the section was called „Abteilung Kliewe“ They researched about anthrax and several other stuff. Hitler prohibeted work on bioweapons in 1942 and no further research on the offensive use of bioweapons was done.. The only remaining official research was for decreasing damage done/taken by BOW attacks.. Himmler was interested in BOW research and tried to continue work on those, to pretend damage of BOWs one had to create BOWs... There were some secret research groups left working on those.. But no BOW was used by germany in WW2

However we all know that this does not mean that there were no secret experiments regarding biological weapons going on..

We just stated that the mansion was used for research, not for "official" production. Things like testing the weapons on kidnapped civillians, prisoners and slave workers.. You just have to keep an eye on the work that was done by some mad "scientists" in concentration camps to get an idea of what mentality the villain of our project has..

On what are you working News Bot? Sorry i'm not that active on THIA, is there already something to see that I may have missed?

Ahh, that makes sense then. Very interesting also, thanks for the info.

We've recently begun working on our own game from scratch, I believe more in the style of CODE:Veronica. I'm currently writing the scenario and one part involves a German noble family with ties to both Umbrella and the Third Reich. I decided to name them "Krueger" after the initial name for the Ashford family. We'll be using a lot of inspirations from scrapped series material to see if any of it could still feasibly fit into the "canon", the goal of the scenario being to explain many things and simultaneously not contradict a single bit of the series lore. We'd very much like to have you guys involved when you finish this mod, if you're interested. Can't wait for it!

I like the idea, sounds very interesting and I'm looking forward to news of your project

I have another batch of new screenshots to show, they were created by our second 2d/3d artist DXP,

It must give you an enormous amount of pride to have already produced a game better than RE6, congratulations! THIS is RE. Can we pre-order?

It's not only pride it's an iron cast boner we have

Thanks scream I wish we could make money with our work but getting kind words like those and last but not least creating our own old-school RE makes us happy enough. There will be a demo coming in FALL 2012 !

Hmm, I've noticed quite a correlation between overpriced t-shirts and mod development time.. ;)

I will admit, those backgrounds fit insanely well with the character models. Everything looks like old RE. Major props to you, and I am super excited now.

You might have mentioned it, but I'm a little lazy <_< which RE2 PC version is this mod going to be using?

So, does this mod feature correct background layering? I seem to remember reveengi being able to correctly extract and render them, meaning they should be hacked and all.

                                Hello,

just randomly came across this thread.

Those pictures appear to be quite nice for what they are.

But in direct comparison, the visuals (especially the backgrounds) shown in the pictures of post #31 somehow appear to be much better than those shown in the pictures of post #38?

                                Just saying .

And if you don't mind asking:

For someone who is not into that modding stuff:

Why are you using RE2 as a base and not RE3? Wouldn't the engine of RE3 be more advanced?

And what is the maximum resolution which can be used for the backgrounds?

                                And another question:

Out of curiosity, could you possibly post a gameplay video of the scenes from post #31 ?
