The only thing you can say, 'I downloaded this and not from a legal site', is beta stuff.

Because A) Piracy damages that which we love, and we don't like it.

And B) Dot's the one who gets into crap if the site is found to provide links to downloads which you guys have put up and he isn't all that willing to get into crap for that.

Betas are the only exception because they were never gonna be sold for cashy money. And even then, if you got hold of, say, the RE5 beta right now I'd ask Dot before you stick a link to it up. A beta of a game before release is iffy.

Well, he did "go overboard" when I made one comment about my dislike for Solid Snake (which is my own opinion, however errant it may be in the eyes of MGS fans). He went nuts, calling me a hypocrite, liar, etc.

If he's that temperamental, he probably had numerous infractions already.

He's incapable of talking about stuff with tossing out insults, he rows out on the open sea when talking about stuff, he constantly contradicts himself whenever he "argues" and in general he tends to have a rather unpleasant attitude and behavior going. Just keep in mind that we don't only follow infractions when dealing with people. We do have our little impressions and notes for people too, as it's not always necessary to hand out warnings and/or infractions

Anyway, it's not a perm-ban.

To be fair though, that argument WAS between 4 people, and only one of them got punishment, and not only an infraction, but a ban. It doesn't really seem fair.

He got a three day ban for being unpleasant and insulting about others opinions, as I understand it.

I just read that thread about "beasely". Never heard of him before, yet everyone was talking about him. Was he someone of any importance?

No. He was a bit of a spammer who liked to pick fights and eventually picked too many. As with so many others he couldn't accept that he was banned and tried to get back, even using a child porn site as a proxy, although it is possible he didn't know what was on the site.

Not especially important, just irritating.

There were 4 people arguing, 2 between each other, and 2 between each other. MoS was only arguing with one person. And yeah, he does get hostile.

MoS took it too far, and from looking around here at his posts, you'd think he just came here to argue with people. People who do that don't fit in at a place like this. They just disrupt the flow of sensible conversation. So hopefully he will tone it down when he returns.
