well it looks like the rpd is in the game after all =/ its just slowly becoming a direct outbreak port which is dissapointing, i like the idea of blasting tons of zombies on screen though especially the crimson heads, but other than that its slowly becoming dissapointing...oh well

While it is beginning to seem a bit disappointingly due to the lack of filling in story isn't this game going to have multi player? I'm remember reading it prolly would have it. It could turn out to be one of those games that's just so much better if you play with someone else. Plus the zapper shouldn't be too hard for people who aren't into games to start playing and enjoying the atmosphere that RE (somewhat).

Yes, the game have co-op mode (it was even shown on the last trailer).
As for story... Am I the only one that think, that all Capcom will do about the story (filling the plotholes etc) will be just puting parts of Wesker's Report III between each chapter full of zombie-shooting?

Originally posted by Project Omega View PostI'm not a fan of House of the Dead so the FPS on rails gameplay is kinda lame for me... I like to explore and find my way around, not be told where and when to go somewhere... I liked survivor because you could go exploring and just look around at the environment. If the game is on rails, exploring and taking your time is pretty much shot down...

Why is everyone puzzled by the RPD? When the game was announced, they said that one of the revisited games would be Resi 2 within the RPD.
Also, does anyone know how they are handeling the scenes such as Jill and Carlos avoiding the truck? Are they QTE?

No video I'm afraid. Just a few pics of the booth.
I had fun with it. Of course, the game still needs some tweaking. I had a little trouble reloading on occasion. The game requires you to shake the remote and nunchuk in one quick motion and sometimes it wouldn't register. I didn't get to play with the zapper so maybe that would make it easier.
You can move your head around a bit with the control stick. But my problem with this was that the camera pans right back to the center so shooting zombies off screen is a bit tricky. But I noticed they walk right in front of the camera before they attack you.
Grabbing Items is a bit of a challenge too. The remote was a little sensitive and the items were pretty small on the screen.
I do think RE fans will love it despite the fact it will take some liberties with the story and setting. It's a fun little arcade experience type of game. I was lucky enough to finish the demo too since everyone was focused on DMC4.
I regret not recording or taking better pics.
The booth wall which also included Jill, Chris, Billy, and Rebecca a little farther down.
Small booth where the demo was in.
Small little screen the demo was on.
I'll just throw this picture in of Hunk and I.Yes, he wanted to snap my neck.Last edited by GalacticAE; 08-08-2007, 09:22 PM.

Many seem disappointed at what this game has turned out to be (not pointing any fingers). I, too, am/was curious as to why Capcom chose to go this route with a new RE when previous games of the same type have been met with lukewarm reviews. I kinda got over it, and here's why: I'm not getting this game to play seriously, I'm getting it to have friends over, drink some beer, and blast some ass, that's it. I think as long as folks understand that this certainly won't be game of the year and almost definitely not the best RE experience ever, they'll be OK.

It's kind of funny how Capcom, since we now know they're shamelessly reusing Outbreak assets for RE3, could have recreated an RE2 scenario using Outbreak assets that would've been far more faithful to the original game than this RE3 scenario is now. They probably would have had to make a few extra rooms for the RPD west wing, but with Birkin's lab done (they have two styles to choose from for those first few rooms ), Capcom could have cheated on the sewers (use the ones from EOTR or something) and use the RE0 tram.
With this fake RE3 scenario, how would we get the Clock Tower?
