I believe Extreme Battle was only added in rereleases of Bio2, like the Greatest Hits and Dual Shock versions.
Yeah, I think so. I've got it on Bio2 Dual shock but that was the last version of Bio2 on playstation, so I was expecting they would have used it in this ps3 download. I don't understand why it wasn't included. I'm not sure if it is compatible with the 'dual shock 3', I still don't have one so I can't test it. The Dino Crisis download has been updated for DS3 compatibility, so it would be weird if Bio2 isn't the Dual shock version...
I agree CiarenDevlin, Dino Crisis is awesome. I've got some credits left on my Japanese account so I think I might download that too. Although, I preferred the 2nd one (it wasn't as scary but I had more fun with it). I never got to play the 3rd because I've never owned an xbox. I remember I was so angry when it was announced that it was to be an xbox exclusive (I was tempted to buy one). But I've read it wasn't very good and there was no Regina
I thought the only version of RE2/Bio2 with skipable cutscenes was the Gamecube?
You might be right, SelfishGene. The GC version was the version I was playing previously to this, so I was used to skipping over everything. Also, I keep a little book where I write down my times and last time I played Bio2 on playstation, my times were more than 30mins faster for each scenario... I guess I must be a bit rusty.

btw, I also got one of the pal, 60gig ps3s. I'm glad I did before they sold out too!

I forgot to say in my last post... I never knew the Platinium PAL RE2 was the Dual Shock Ver.. you learn something new everyday... I'm almost tempted to try and track a copy down now.

Randomwab said there was no announcement, and my memory of the Platinium editions case was that it was the same as the standard version - just with the platinum strip on the cover and booklet and 2 platinum labeled discs. So I don't think so.

It wouldn't be the first time thats been done, announced or unannounced.

Yeah. I see a lot of AR codes with version 1.0, version 1.1 etc. Not for RE2 but other games like MGS.

I'm thinking along the lines of Virtua Fighter 4 in the US being the Evo edition on the GH label, and Silent Hill 2 on the Euro platinum range being the Directors Cut as a couple of examples.

I haven't been able to find any online confirmation that this extras on the PS Platinum thing is correct, but I can confirm the covers are definently as I remember them. I was fairly certain the PC edition and then the Dreamcast versions were first time the PAL region got to see the Dual Shock based extras, but'd I'd love to be wrong.

I've been playing Extreme Battle again on the Bio2 Dual Shock version after this episode. I couldn't stop thinking about it.
It's damn good fun and a real shame it wasn't included in the download.
Also can anyone tell me all the differences between the 'Original', 'Arrange' and 'U.S. Version', versions that are on the main menu.

Edit: to partly answer my own question, I found this quote from Shinji Mikami.
The U.S. version of RE2 is more difficult than the Japanese version. Also there are "dying demos" in the U.S. version that were deleted in the Japanese version. A dying demo is a CG scene shown when the player dies (Game Over).

I thought Original was U.S Mode but in BioHazard 2, I maybe wrong, but I know for sure Arrange mode is the Japanese game and Original is obviously the original American release.

A bit late, but I got all of Capcom's releases on the PSN about two weeks ago. RE DC and DC are just fine (with the typical audio playback issue on the system), but there is one audio compression artifact in RE2. The zombie moaning sound in the wind outside (when Sherry or Ada are in control) sounds like someone is blowing through a straw.

Other than that, if you got a PSP, this is a great way to have those games on the go.
