Nubytech, Makers of the RE4 Chainsaw Controller have released a press release detailing the features of their new chainsaw controller for the PS2 version of the game. Gamespot reports that the controller will feature a ripcord which when pulled plays a sound of a chainsaw starting up. The controller is reportedly easier to handle than the Gamecube version which suffered from its fair share of issues.

One of the more interesting features is NubyTech's new N-MotionTM technology. It allows players to raise and lower the controller and Leon will raise and lower his aim. Though I dont see how this will work out well since RE4 has a first person view style shooting. One would think it would be better suited to RE games of the past which only had 3 levels of aiming.

For you collectors out there Nubytech is also releasing a limited run of all black chainsaws but only for Japan. This Japan-only version will make its debut at the Tokyo Game Show in NubyTech's booth #4-N8.Its release is slated for October. More details can be read at Gamespot.

How would it be better suited for old RE games? All you had to do was press up or down and you only had one level of each. All you had to do was press up or down, there's nothing you could do to make that easier. Also, it's more needed in RE4 than it is in the old ones. Aiming a pistol with your hands is much easier than aiming it with a controller stick. It's almost like giving you a guncom to do your shooting.

RE4 = Full 360 aiming
Controller = vertical aiming only

Whoever thought it was a good idea is an idiot. If it had horizontal and vertical aiming then yeah it might be good (good luck with your arm strength).

Id say its better for older RE games than RE4 since RE4 = all horizontal and vertical, while the past games are only 3 points vertical and all horizontal.
