• Resident Evil 0 - Beta Cutscene

*stealth update*
The aspect ratio was incorrect on the video, please re-download it if you downloaded it earlier.

We had posted this one a long time ago, but when we switched over to the new video page it was lost in the shuffle. Zomby brought it up again so we're posting it in the final video section. This one contains much better quality (thanks to progressive recording) so be sure to check this one out even if you have the older one. What you see is a WIP cutscene from the Biohazard 0 Trial Edition disc, found by Meg when she was searching the disc.

It shows Rebecca, in her beret from the N64 version, encountering the first set of zombies on the train. Most of the time the video will cut to a rough version of the scene without any textures or visual effects. The sound also cuts out shortly after it begins. Due to the Gamecubes compression scheme, you will see areas of the video go in and out of pink and green. This is normal for the video, unfortunately. Contrary to previous speculation by some members of the community, the scene is not from the Nintendo 64 version, but is just a WIP scene from the final retail release. Enjoy!

Resident Evil 0 - Beta Cutscene.

That video was something real special! I like this outfit so much more than her final one, she looks just as sexy as Jill! But I suppose they had to keep it consistent with her RE1 outfit, unless she just decides to strip off before she enters the Mansion? Who's with me?

I know you have some fancy progressive recording technique but I would be really surprised if the original file actually had 640 horizontal lines. Most cutscenes are intentionally recorded at a lower resolution because it saves space and back then every tv had overscan anyways. I have yet to find a Capcom game that wasn't 512 or something smaller (strickly speaking from last generation). For example the videos in Outbreak are 384 and the videos in RE4 are 512 (PS2 version). But that is just my little observation .

You're quite right but sometimes in games it looks as if they used interpolated deinterlacing just to avoid doing a nice crisp progressive image. Either that or it's the method to which they resized it, for example the FMV from RE1 where you see Brad landing, a perfect example, but then again it's native resolution is below 320x240 along with some others in the game too. Just my thoughts.

By no means will I say I think the actual horizontal resolution is 640, its probably lower like you suggested, but since after capturing / cropping I'm left with 640 horizontal resolution, I'm not going to waste that and try to guess the actual resolution is. With the status of the HVQM format being what it is, I think its best to just go with what you have

Sounds like you have a beret fetish, Zero Heres a shot from the final cutscene for reference.

The link's broken Dot. But talking of Beret fetishes, I did once get my girlfriend to dress up as Jill from RE3, the skirt made for easy Womb Raidering. LOL!

Its a PNG, you might need to use another browser to view it properly. IE has issues with it.

I liked Rebecca better without her beret, I don't like berets for some reason...
I think she looks alot less skilled and defenceless, but thats just me...
Rebecca is my second favourite character...so...it's probably just me lol!

I've always loved Richard, you can't beat that terrible demons line. PMSL! OOOOOOUCH! Anyway, back on topic, they should kept this outfit for maybe like an Extreme differculty mode, like Advanced mode in Director's Cut.

Now that you remind me...isn't Jill's Advance mode costume Rebecca's, but blue? I don't know...but still, comes to mind.
