Richard Waugh not voicing Wesker in RE5

He was such a gentleman by replying my e-mail so quickly, in a few hours only. I believe this situation got on him seriously, he seems kinda sad about all that. He probably believes fans think he stole Wesker's role from Waugh, and that's not true. That's Capcom's fault! He's just doing his job!

Even though I like Richard better, I can't really blame this guy. If there should be any blame it should be put on capcom. Shit instead of keeping Richard, they force this guy to sound like him. It seems like there are playing the same game with Chris's VA as it has changed from trailer to trailer. In fact, I think it has been different for every game he has been in.

My PERSONAL preference is Waugh, and everyone knows that. And I know many people have this same opinion. But we all still have to respect Douglas's work, he's doing his best.

I'd really love if Waugh could come back, but this won't happen, so let's get used to the fact that Douglas is the new Wesker.

wesker's voice is what makes him sound all cool and evil which is a good combo but its their choice and i will alway be playing resident evil every day period

Seems likely, but you could really read into that a number of ways; he was purposely vague about it. I see it as either Wesker mutates into something else, as you have stated, or perhaps, he has to play a younger Wesker in some flashback cut scenes.

Thank you as well for sharing that email. DC Douglas does indeed seem very professional. Kudos for him. It still bums me out to switch voice actors for a character with such a distinct voice. It sort of breaks the illusion, for lack of a better way to put it.

I still bust up laughing every time someone says "ZOMBAAYZZZ." It's good to know I'm not the only one who found that particular word cringe-inducing. :p

i dont think this will be the end of wesker in this game, i think the voice thing refers to the flashback elements of the game.
maybe we will see a young wesker and birkin at the training facility

Douglas is nice. I don't like his work on RE that much, but as a professional, he's great.
But I'm a huuuuuuuuuuge fan of Waugh. Sally Cahill and Richard Waugh are like my idols. I've been looking for Waugh since I first played RECV, hope I can talk to him someday!

Ever since Wesker returned in CODE: Veronica, I had a feeling that when he was finally killed off, he would turn into some kind of monster for the final battle. That seems to be the MO for human villains in the series who have been injected with some kind of virus (or parasite). I'm really hoping it'll be a different case with Wesker, but I kind of doubt it.

If we do have to fight Wesker as a monster, I hope we at least get to fight him in his human form first. Krauser gave us a possible taste of what it would be like to fight Wesker, and I'd love to see that come to fruition. Still, Wesker mused in Umbrella Chronicles about his own possible mutation as a result of the virus, so it'll be interesting to see how that plays out, if at all.

Yeah I feel bad for Douglas. He's an easy target, but it's Capcom that should cop the fans ire over this.

As for the mutation and possible death of Wesker... Good. I hope it's permanent this time

They could always digitally edit his voice with software to pitch it and slow it down or speed it up to make him sound younger, interscope do it all the time there even software to make men sound like women and vice-versa.

I think really they should do what Konami did with MGS4, fully close all chapters and move onto something else. *With any luck*.

I dont think theres anything wrong with Douglas' portrayal, it wasn't that bad.
Besides, it'd cost Capcom more to pay Waugh to travel to LA to do the voice acting there then it would hiring someone from the bloody state to do the voice to begin with.

I can't see why everyone got so attached to someone with a horrendous british accent thats sounds as bad as a Bond villain on crystal meth with a log shoved up his arse.
