Chris is being sent to Africa to investigate the virus. He probably doesn't know to much of what is going on or who is involved. I could be wrong but its similar to Leon where he went to find Ashley and new very like about the people involved. Anyone from Chris's past in this game with probably be a suprise, like Ada and Krasuer were for Leon.
