  • US Resident Evil 5 Demo Update : Coming Soon for Both PS3/360

    Capcom Unity's Kramez has updated his Blog and put up some information regarding a possible Resident Evil 5 demo for the US audience. He says that the demo is coming, although a bit later than the Japanese demo, and it will be available on both the PS3 and 360.

    What does this mean to you, Joe Sixpack, denizen of the Land of the Free and the Home of the Collapsing Economy? Not much. Resident Evil 5 is still on track for the previously-announced Friday the 13th, March 2009, release in both North America and Europe. Fear not, we will also be seeing demos for both the 360 and PS3 versions of the game, but they will be hitting N. America a bit later than the Japanese demo. Stay tuned, more to come on the demos soon!

    *UPDATE*

    According to the website bit-tech.com Capcom have confirmed that the US Version demo will not be released this year. The site doesn't point to any links, but it seems likely since the original reveal of the US demo said as much that it would be arriving later than the Japanese demo.

    *END UPDATE*

    YES! I knew it. But I wonder how long we have to wait in order to play it here? I hope it's not till the end of December cause I'm hyped already!

      That is the question, how long?. For marketing purposes is very possible that the demo for US and EURO will be delayed till next year, I hope not.

              The DMC4 demo was released, what, like 2 weeks before the full game? I'd wager it'll be no different with RE5.

                Meh. The full game will be released in like 3.5 months, so it's not a big deal to me. I've waited this long, so what is another 105 days?

                  If you want the demo sooner it's really easy. For the 360 you can set up a Japanese account with little problem, just google the address of a Japanese hospital to find a matching postal code. If it takes a gold membership to download, then get a one month subscription card from game stop for like 7 dollars. That's my plan anyway.

                    You get a free month's subscription if it's your second or third account on the 360.

                        Alternatively, you could just make a free Japan account on PSN. Then get the demo for free...

                          That's if it's released on PSN on December 5th.

                            Microsoft could easily block other regions from downloading the demo even if you have a Japanese Live account, they did it with the Ninja Gaiden 2 demo (Which was released early in Japan i believe) so there's no reason they won't do it with this.

                            It may work yet, but don't get too excited.

                              @Archelon

                              Yeah, I'm just thinking positively and assuming it will...

                              I'll not be a happy camper if it's not. But I would also assume that it will be on the Japan PSN before it appears in the US and Europe etc.
