  • RPD Dispatch Episode #7.5

Having just come off a trip to Capcom where he played brand new levels of Resident Evil 5, Kris (the founder of Project Umbrella) joins us in this special edition of the RPD Dispatch. In it, he talks about his trip to visit Capcom, Bionic Commando 3D, and finally Resident Evil 5. We didn't have time to take any calls, so this is just a quick podcast which only contains discussion about his visit. Episode 8 will deal with our thoughts on the Biohazard 5 demo that was released on Xbox Live.

We have to put a spoiler warning here, though. Obviously, there are some gameplay elements that are talked about, but Kris saw a couple cutscenes from the game which give a bit of story from the game. While the two levels he played are pretty early in the game, one of them contains near confirmation of a returning character. So you have been warned.

I want to thank Kris from Project Umbrella, and Carnivol for joining us this week, as well as all our listeners and the people who called in this week, its always great to hear from you guys. If you want to give us a call to talk about anything, let us know how were doing or even try and get your comment played on the podcast, send a Skype message to the username bifftannentruewinner, and our voice mail should pick up after a few rings. Be aware, that we won't have this up until the date specified below. Alternatively, you can send me a private message and we can arrange how to send us an mp3 recording. We'd love to hear from you guys, especially if its about the game we'll be playing that particular week, or even the games we've played on past podcasts.

For the next podcast (which will be recorded in a little over a week), we'll hopefully be playing the Biohazard 5 demo. Our call-in line will be open on Saturday, December 27th.

                It isn't a major spoiler, don't worry.

Yes! A variety of Assault Rifles in the game! I just hope the AK47 makes an appearance.

Regarding the truck carrying the giant bat/hornet thing, it crashes because of the bat/hornet. If you watch closely in the trailer, the truck begins to shake a bit while it's still moving, and the Majini driving looks back at the container briefly before spinning out.

Also, in the X-Play footage from last night, you can see Chris pick up some proximity mines. He never uses them, but you can see them in his inventory. I was wondering what they were when I was watching X-Play. I figured they were either mines of some sort or ammo drums.

And it sounds like the "cover system" works like it did in RE4, except now you can actually fire from cover.

*cough* Quick *cough* podcast? 1 hour?

                            I'll enjoy it

NOTE: Info leaked from the RPD stations informs me that this is only a quick side-story that will do fans over until the next REAL Dispatch is out because it's taking so long However, this will quickly become a fan-favourite due to a new and cool character
