i kinda thought she might be a new character, and it would not surprise me if capcom lied the entire time and all the characters apart from Chris and Wesker are new and Jill doesn't even get a mention in the game.

Like Alexia_Ashford, the first thing I thought of was Alyson Court. I wouldn't be surprised if that's where they took the name from. Like the way they recently named the boss of SFIV Seth after Seth Killian.
