Personally, I am upset with what Resident Evil has become. I really love the old style gameplay (pre-RE4). On the other hand I loved RE4 for being a really, really fun action game. I anticipate I will love RE5 for the same reasons.

Here's the problem though. In the years since RE4 I have played and enjoyed various action games which perfected RE4's style of gameplay (Gears of War 1, Gears of War 2, and Deadspace). Yet, RE5 has not learned that if it wants to be an action game it needs to adapt it's controls like Gears of War or Deadspace.

Capcom needs to "shit or get off the pot" when it comes to Resident Evil. Resident Evil is no longer a horror franchise. It has become an action shooter. I would prefer it to have stayed as survival horror, but alas, action shooters must sell better and Capcom knows this. They just need to move away from the old style controls.

They did introduce a GOW control system though while retaining "classic" (aka RE4 style) controls for the original fans.

On topic, glad to see the game score well. I personally have high hopes for this one. I just have a gut feeling that the story in 5 is going to be the one us die hard fans have been waiting for since 4's obvious "tangent-story-to-attract-new-fans".

I played the demo many times and found no such option. The point I'm trying to make is that if Capcom wants Resident Evil to be an action game, then give it proper action game controls and allow the characters to move while they shoot.

The default control scheme, Type-D, is this "action" control; you can strafe, you can aim with right stick instead of left stick and you can shoot with triggers. But you still can't move while shooting.

Hey guys, here's some more quotes from the OPM review:

Among the many praises in the titanic seven-page review, including the "distinguished" and "revlationary" co-op mode, OPM pays particular attention to the game's mix of gameplay styles, which Resi 4 did particularly well in its excellent pacing.

"RE5 does a great job of mixing gameplay styles to create a sense of pacing that flows between high octane shootouts to more subdued, eerie exploratory sequences," it says.

"One moment you'll be blasting and hacking away at zombie mobs and face off against some seemingly invincible mini-boss in the midst of town, or you'll be systematically exploring working your way through the dark, claustrophobic confines of a mine of the labyrinth corridors of a secret research complex, experience a brief but hair-raising quick-time event and be back to fighting zombies - but this time racing across the Savannah manning the chain gun on the back of a humvee.

"It's exactly the type of event you have to share with a buddy, so you can discuss, dissect and deliberate over it for days to come," says OPM.

"This is like playing an Indiana Jones movie. And not the crappy ones."

GamesRadar+ takes you closer to the games, movies and TV you love.

Looks like there will be a solid balance of balls out action like the demo provided, as well as slower, more methodically paced exploration based sequences. Sounds pretty awesome.

That good it got a good review but they're still bitching about the not being about to shoot and walk? I never had a problem with the control scheme, I don't know why it has to be changed.
