The first episode of the new Listen Up podcast from 1up has a massive section devoted to the Resident Evil 5 demo. The overall impression is pretty negative though as they mostly talk about the short comings of the control scheme. The section is very interesting and a must listen for all fans.

I'm still amazed that people who play games for a living can't get to grips with this control system, it's easy as hell!

Maybe they just prefered the classics...

Because gamers now are so lazy, they want every shooter to play like Gears of War or Dead Space. It doesn't matter to them that the game is not your average action game and that because of inability to move when aiming player is forced to play "cat & mouse" with enemies and take advantage of stunning and melee combat.
It's like saying Bionic Commando has awful controls because you can't jump in the game

From what I understood, they have problems with the camera and the controls...

They didn't like RE 4 either

Maybe they just prefered the classics...
