  • The Resident Evil 5 FAQ

Wondering if you have lost something about RE5 during last weeks? Don't worry, the guys over at Joystiq have the answer! They just posted a nice article featuring answers to the most commonly asked questions about Resident Evil 5, give it a look here.

    Joystiq article thanks to Dark_Chris

They don't mention system link. Also, there is apparently an option for friendly fire. And there is no drop-in/drop-out co-op like originally stated; the game ends if one player leaves, like the demo. Lame. : / Oh well, if the checkpoints/auto-save are frequent enough, that should help relieve some stress.

They've only played the first half of the game, it seems, since they say "based on the first half" so many times throughout the FAQ. So, I think the cutscenes and texts will increase in the second half, as hinted by pretty much anyone involved in the game.

In fact, hasn't it been confirmed that there is roughly 1 hour of cutscenes based on the UK rating info that leaked? Sure, it's no MGS4, but an hour of cutscenes seems to be longer than RE4's cutscenes. More or less Joystiq seems to be jumping the gun or assuming too much, rather than stating fact. Hell, they even claim many of the weapons are the same as 4. Um, no, they really aren't. And since when has a Sniper Rifle been a "staple" of the series? It's been in one game before this one.

                Two.

                You're forgetting CODE: Veronica.

Ah, yes. How could I forget blasting Nosferatu?

                  Good call.

RE4 had nearly two hours of cutscenes, that doesn't include the Hunnigan transmissions and whatnot.

It isn't necessary cracking the code to understand that line. You can't write **** ********* and hope that nobody understand what this means.

                            Is there friendly fire?
Yes, but it is optional. You can change the setting before launching a new game.

Holy shit! Dreams do come true!
And yah, good to see I wasn't the only one thinking about the code like that; great minds think-alike I say!

But a lot of the stuff there seems to be BS.
