UK Official PlayStation Magazine RE5 Review : 8/10

I heard the critic said that the game was only about 8 hours long. Considering virtually every other review has stated 15-20 hours, I find that hard to believe. GamePro Germany said it was 18 hours long. OXM and OPM said it was 15-20 hours long. Press who played through the first half estimate the full game will be 15-20 hours long. This 8 hour claim confuses me.

8 out of 10 isn't a low score.

Yet, people on the internet are claiming Killzone 2 is a flop because its Metacritic score is dropping closer to 9.0.

They gave fear2, skate2, and killzone 2 8/10. I've played the demo of them and they where both far below what Resident Evil 5 is looking up to be. These are the people that gave Little Big Planet 10/10 though so dont worry OPM has always been run by idiots.

Ok first off Mr. Spencer man that hurts my feelings. I know the goverments are the same but as individual's we will have nothing to do with England. Its like living next door to that prick you hate. Back on topic I got the Magazine infront of me and had a quick flick through, they have rated Res5 the same as Chronicles Of Riddick. They also gave Supersonic acrobatic a 7 and a game called astro tripper!!Then they gave Lumines an 8 its bascially a tetris game but this one is what made me laugh anyone heard of a game called Flower? They gave it a 9! Lol think its safe to say these guys are abit childish.

Well, Astro Tripper was great. Pure arcade fun. Flower is very quaint. I like that too. I don't know what the problem is, 8/10 is a very good score. It's the same with all those pissflappers who bitched about Killzone 2 not getting a ten from OPM UK.

By the way, I like how you mentioned having your feelings hurt and then you turn around and unleash a hateful tirade of your own. Dickery begets dickery, my friend. By the way, do you know where I live? =P

You do realize that the reviewers differ? It's not the same guy doing every game. And it's not a hive-mind.

That's also why the review systems in Famitsu and the old school EGM were/are way better than most out there. You get 4 different takes on the title each ranking it out of 10. If you read the magazines enough you also know what reviewers prefer which types of games, yet under this system most are mindful because of the overall rank of keeping that within scale when reviewing - thus reviewing the game for it's own merits rather than what they like - which is nice and keeps everything balanced.

The Famitsu 40 is the ranking of each of those people for example which is why it's a real accomplishment to get a 40/40 ranking. I really wish more outlets would take the time to do it.
