  • Australians get US Limited Edition in "Uber Edition"

    EBGames in Australia have started taking pre-orders for what they're calling the "Uber Edition" of Resident Evil 5. The package is exactly the same as the previously announced US Collector's Edition, and will be available on launch date in addition to the already announced Limited and Standard Editions.

    Includes Game, Steelbook, Bonus Disc featuring 60mins Making Of Doc PLUS trailer for RE Degeneration, Tricell messenger bag, Chris Redfield figurine, BSAA patch and Kijuju necklace.

    The "Uber Edition" will retail for $169.95 (AUS) and will launch on March 13th, 2009. It is currently unknown if it will be exclusive to EBGames or not.

    Product page is available for the PS3 or 360

    Thanks to Capcomunication for the heads up.

        Australian dollars. Works out to be cheaper than if you were to import the US version from Play Asia.

            I just cancelled my play-asia order and pre-ordered it from a New Zealand site. I think they might be selling it cheaper than overseas somehow, because I'm paying $201.39 NZ for it and $1.40 of that is the shipping price (and only because I want to sign for it, since I don't want them to dump it on my doorstep.) Before shipping from play-asia, it would have cost about $212 NZD.

            Given the current exchange rate, I think the US dollar is worth just over twice as much as the NZ dollar. (Though I could be mistaken...)

                I'm asking around some of my mates who are getting it from different places in the world, just cos I'm curious about the differences in prices.

                  I posted this yesterday (such is my blinding 'super speed') but it must have been overlooked in the excitement of the new trailer.
                  EB games has a choice of the 'Limited Edition', which is exactly the same as the European one, for $129.95AUD.
                  Or the 'Uber Edition' which is the same as the US Collector's Edition, for $169.95AUD.

                  Also JB HiFi is offering the game with a bonus figurine (1 of the 3 Neca RE5 figures chosen at random) for $99AUD.
                  http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/Produ...Bonus-Figurine)
                  And to make the EB deal cheaper you can sign up for their webmail. You get a 15% discount off your first purchase.
                  Now, I'm no mathematician but I think that would be at least $20 off!!!
                  (The catch is that it's only valid for 7 days. It probably can be used for pre-orders but I havn't tried it yet)

                  Anyhoo, this is very nice news for us Aussies!

                    Really? All I got was 1,200 of something called 'banana' points from where I pre-ordered from.

                    Yeah... I don't know what that means either. <.<;

                      'banana points'?!
                      That must be a New Zealand thing...
                      Maybe if you earn enough of them, they send you some bananas (?)

                        Probably... <.<;

                        I like bananas, but what use are they in a zombie apocalypse?

                          Lies. $30 AU -> Approx $18 US

                          Thats for most albums.

                            Australia is a very self-sufficient country, actually, so I wouldn't say they get ripped off. When I went there, despite the fact that their dollar is worth more than ours, stuff was still cheaper, because most of what I was buying was made in Australia, rather than imported.

                              Neme, is the Uber Edition PAL region? I know it's a stupid question but since 360 isn't region free I have to buy both the crappy European L.E. to play RE5 and the US Collector's Edition becouse i want its special contents. But if the Uber Edition is PAL region I'll buy that without spending a lot of money, Let me know man =)
