Gametrailers Interviews Jun Takeuchi

Gametrailers has posted a two-part interview with Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi. They discuss a wide range of topics, and, perhaps most interestingly, he addresses the hacking of the demo and the information that was leaked as a result. He even suggests that the information contained within the demo is old and that the final game may not contain everything listed in the demo. On the flip side, there may be new content in the final game that was not listed in the demo hack.

He also confirms what many have suspected for some time now. Sherry Birkin will not make an appearance in Resident Evil 5 and that her presence in the game was nothing more than a rumor.

Sorry If I am just being slow, but what information was leaked from the Demo content?

reH hacked into the demo and put the information of the code online, but me and AA informed Capcom and manage to get it stopped from other sites before it went mainstream and become "popular". Luckily it went all fine after a few weeks, after when reH decided to pull it down when being requested many times.

It isn't even an issue on knowledge of the game, thats an amature translation mistake.

I guess we should have seen this coming after Capcom removed the part about Sherry from Wesker's Report I on the 10th anniversary dvd. It still ticks me off, though. It almost makes me wonder now what point there was in declaring Claire A/Leon B the canon scenario if Capcom isn't even going to return to the plot point of Sherry being infected with a G embryo.

So are we just supposed to assume that she's been in the care of the military for the past ten years? Or that she was adopted by somebody and led a relatively normal life? Seriously, more than any other character in the series, I was hoping Capcom would finally explain just what happened to Sherry, and what Wesker has been doing with her for the past ten years, but I guess now we're supposed to accept that Wesker never even captured her? Ugh.

Who cares about Sherry! I kinew she couldn't be in RE5. Capcom does not introduce Sherry to Chris. Leon and Claire will have to reunite with her. It's obvious. Chris and Wesker reunite with the characters in their respective games like Jill, Barry, Rebecca and so on. So what the hell were people thinking RE5 will have featured Sherry? The one tube scene at the end of the Extended 2007 trailer? <--(not a real question)

yea i possible wii RE5 and RE2 remake, im excited hopefully the RE2 will be next gen. and i agree, i would rather have jill in the tube then sherry it would be stupid if it was sherry becuase i want a main story with claire and her...

I wouldn't said that. If someone doesn't know that there was a character named "Sherry" in RE games it's normal that after hearing name "Shelly" (there's no "r" in Japanese) he would translate to it to... "Shelly". After all that's also a female name.

Jill is Plauge Doctor. I don't think Tube Lady has been confirmed, but I could be wrong.

Have you ever wondered maybe Jill is both? I mean a clone? WTF? Maybe the tube girl is her before she turns to birdwoman. Maybe that is where she was being kept.????
