I imagine an RE2make would be in the same vein as REmake. Altering the controls to be like RE4 wouldn't work, as the setting for RE2 isn't very big. The game is already short with only tank controls; imagine blazing through it via RE4 input? It'd take like 2 hours unless they drastically alter EVERYTHING to make it bigger, longer, etc.

REmake is the perfect RE game. Take RE2, upgrade it that way, and a classic game remains a classic, if not better.

This is all speculation anyway, who knows if they'll ever actually remake it? I mean, if they do, then fans will continue to clamor for remakes of everything else. Capcom will be locking themselves into having to remake 3 and possibly CV as well...

So Capcom is not considering a third outbreak game after all, I don't like the outbreak games so much but I think that a lot of RE fans want a sequel. What suprises me is that the people at the Q&A were pleased with this.

yes a game like that would be great, but you forgot 2 important things: we are in 2009, and game developers (Konami apart LOL) don't make charity, especially Capcom.

^I think with the Wii releases of RE0 and REmake in Japan, there is still an audience for that type of control scheme & gameplay. Capcom is still a Japanese company, and I imagine they get firsthand input from their own country's gamers.

And there are plenty of RE fans out there, worldwide, who would snatch up a RE2make. I mean, not every gamer lives for FPS's. I know that is what a majority of today's video game market consumes those (and bitches about anything else that isn't "run & gun," or "easy to control"), but there are still old school gamers that prefer "old school" games. Just look at Mega Man 9...which was made by Capcom. Same company that released SSF2 HD Remix. Two "retro" games right there.

Capcom loves money, as any company does, but I also believe that Capcom DOES care about their fans.

I never really like the idea of remakes, I'm sure a remake of Resident Evil 2 would be nothing but absolutely quality but serious where will it end? Will you next cry out for a remake of 3, and then CODE: Veronica? How long before people will cry out for a remake of the remake.

^That's what I was trying to allude to...if Capcom does indeed remake 2, then they're locking themselves into having to remake 3 and CV. Fans will keep whinging until the sun comes up, as they've been doing for RE2 since REmake hit shelves.

people dont realise that a company needs money to make these games, they are not money hungrey. They do care about fans and they make games they think are cool like any games developer would.

so why those games are Japanese exclusive?

I think a RE 2 remake would be cool but considering I think the game is perfect, I would rather it not be messed with. A new outbreak would be nice but think it would just turn into Left 4 Dead.

I was just trying to emphasize that there is still a market for those games, even if it is in Japan. And then there are the die hard fans who have to import those games to play them, if they want to...

...but I guess Western audiences don't have patience for anything other than FPS nowadays, hence the millions of FPS games:

                      - Halo
                      - Haze
                      - Fallout 3
                      - Gears of War
                      - Call of Duty
                      - Killzone
                      - Resistance
                      - Shoot, even Metroid was turned into an FPS

I don't even play many games and I can name a few, just because every other game is an FPS.

Anyway, I think if RE2 was remade, it would sell. It would be a NEW game as opposed to the REmake & RE0 Wii ports which really are just the same old "Cube game you can buy off of eBay if you don't already own it...

RE2 doesn't need a remake. CV needs a remake. Terrible voice actors, iffy control scheme, and nowhere near as scary as it could have been. CV was good, but far from RE standard. RE2 was a masterpiece as it is.

REmake 2 on the Wii with REmake's engine would be...an absolute dream come true. I'll keep dreaming.

Then, all I need is full remakes of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake and my life will be complete.

True. Plus RECV's graphics have not aged well. The game looks like doo-doo. The animation is stiff, and non-pre-rendered backgrounds look atrocious now. And when I watch my favorite parts - Chris -vs- Wesker - instead of being "into" the scenes, I keep thinking how bad the graphics are...and I am far from a graphics snob.

Hey, you got a remake: "The Twin Snakes." God that game sucks...

When compared to MGS1, The Twin Snakes is weak...but as a standalone game, I think it's okay. I enjoyed playing through it once.

Although, when I found out that George Byrd/Greg Eagles did not voice Gray Fox in TTS...I knocked 2 points off my review score.

I dunno - CODE: Veronica's visuals, whilst not aged amazingly are still pretty good today. Far far far far and away from Metal Gear Solid on the Playstation and people still can be lost in that title, and the characters had no eyes in that!

Plus, Capcom of today, who's to say a remade Resident Evil 2 will be anything comparible to the original, with the state of the series today - I see it more action orientated, with a Resident Evil 4/5 over the shoulder cam, dumbing down of puzzles.etc.
