Wow. Not too bad for a CGI film!

I wonder how these numbers compare to films like FF: Spirits Within and Advent Children?

Final Fantasy The Spirits Within was a complete flop, with a budget of 137 million dollars the film made only 85 million dollars worldwide... while Advent Children had sold over 2.4 million copies worldwide (1 million in Japan, 1.3 million in US and Australia, but ONLY 100,000 copies in Europe).

But ehi Degeneration has been released only 3 months ago in US and Japan, and 2 months ago in Europe.

I was quite suprised when my mum told me it was in the top 10 where she works. You don't normally get that for a game-to-movie CGI film. Like they said on that Playr program though, Resident Evil isn't just games anymore, it's a highly successful, best-selling franchise. So it's not ALL that suprising. Resident Evil does rule, after all.

Lolz. No wonder, that movie blew ass. Spirits Within makes Degeneration look like an Academy Award nominee.

But let's be real...Degeneration was pretty awesome.

Yeah, too bad for Squaresoft that they invested all that money trying to make CGI characters effectively display emotion...with "Degeneration," Capcom chose to instead focus on a character that fails to emote, and thus makes cardboard cutouts at the movie theatre look like Oscar nominees.

Both the Resident Evil live action films and the CGI endeavors (thus far) have the worst possible lead characters. And yet they rake in the cash. Amazing.

I just hope Capcom didn't invest too much of their capital on the recent Street Fighter film...I think it has a 0% rating at rottentomatoes.com.

How is Claire one of "the worst possible lead characters" for a film?......unless you mean Leon, then I'd agree he wouldn't be my first, second, third, fourth, or fifth choice.

Shipped doesn't equal sales though. Probably get a lot of returns
