Resident Evil 5 Patch Incoming ?

I was prompted for a patch when I loaded the game this morning.

What IGN said about there been no CO op on Mercenaries was bullshit once again they have been proven wrong I never have trusted IGN for years they have lied and made real bad reivew so I doint trust them anyone but I caint wait to see what DLC we will be getting in the future but I wounder what the Pach will do for the game.

^Well, do the math. If IGN said the game was released as featuring no online Co-Op for post-game unlockables, and then Dengeki releases a story saying Capcom will release a patch to allow online Co-Op in their post-game unlockables, then...

...IGN technically reported an accurate account of the game as currently released to consumers. But spin the story how you like, it makes no difference to IGN if they lose your "valued" readership.

I'm just happy as a clam right now. My heart was broken when I read there would be no online co-op for Mercenaries. Because 1. it didn't make sense and 2. it was one of the things I was really looking forward to. Now, my mind is somewhat at ease. I'll see you bitches at the top of the leaderboards! (Well, you'll see me).

My guess is that Capcom had to work out a few more bugs on the unlockable co-op games, and hadn't worked through them prior to meeting the required shipping date for their discs. So they shipped them out and figured to release a patch at a later date.

I'm pretty sure a game built around the co-op experience was always meant to have co-op selectable for things like "Mercenaries."

Patch is already out at 29MB for PS3. Possibly the same size for the 360 as well.
